What it has going against it...Royal Monaco front bumper, Brougham Interior including front seat with armrests, Lean Burn, 77 Rear Bumper, yellow front turn signal markers are wrong, funky letters on the gas door, push bar isn't close, doesn't have the right bracket for the unity spotlight, and last a minor point, but the front license plate. The red sticker would only be on the rear plate covering the 79. No red sticker on the front plate!
For it...looks solid, PA system, power seats and windows (wonder if they work).
For the buyer, if they were looking to make it more like a 74, they'd have their work cut out for them.
What do you think is a fair price for this? If it were just any old 77 Royal Monaco. Solid and runs well, 136K miles. I'd pay $2500. Add for the 74 front clip...$1,000 But the 77 front bumper is left...less $300 Black and White paint job already done (assume it's Maaco). Add $600. Unity spotlight already in place...Add $100. If it's a good PA system and good speakers in the car..add $1000.
That adds up to $4,900. Am I wrong?

Aw Phish, knowing how much effort you put into your cars, and judging by the pictures, if I didn't already have mine, I'd give you a respectable offer close to your asking price!

But the 77 front bumper is left... It's funny that they would go to the trouble to add those bumper guards, wrong for that bumper and the movie Bluesmobile didn't have the front or rear bumper guards. I mean yes we know what they were trying to achieve here, a more 74-ish looking bumper but ... meh. The more I think about it ... they must be removed immediately lol. Without them, who would know it's the wrong bumper? Only us. With them who would know they're not correct for that bumper? Once again only us. The 'fake' bumper guards are to deceive the only people who know they're fake lol. There's some good things with this one being a true sedan, gold interior, no vent windows, no fender mount turn signals, no passenger mirror, header panel letters removed, correct taillights, big block motor. The asking prices for Blumo's being North of $20 grand is a relatively new phenomenon. The Phishmobile is a race-car with cop parts and comes with a big build price. For the one in this thread I agree with SCMODS that it's overpriced. It's a cool Blumo with some neat gadgets but not a $20,000 Blumo. I mean hey, just opinions here is all. Maybe not a $20,000 Blumo to some of us but the odds are probably still pretty good it will be on a ship going overseas before the month is over.

Just my 2 cents I think it easily brings $12-$15 grand if you truly want a fairly correct Bluesmobile already built for you that is a fair price. Try and find a 74 nose without having to buy a whole car for it. It amazes me how these cars are getting looked at like $100,000 restored 60's Corvettes with this is wrong and that is wrong. Let's give the guy some credit he built a good looking tribute that would be loads of fun to take to any cruise night and he is keeping the Blues Brothers memory alive. And as far as his price, nowadays if you don't start higher than what you really want your going to be shocked by the amount of low ball offers you will get even at a low starting price. You can thank American Pickers and Gas Monkey Garage for that Low ball em' mentality. And once you start slamming and picking out details for sport on everyone's car this board becomes no more fun. These cars have dried up thanks to these 3 facts 1. They are now 45 years old, each year there are less and less of them just due to age and rust out beyond repair 2.They have always been a prime choice for the Demolition Derby crowd back when they were plentiful many of them got destroyed this way 3.They were also a prime choice for scrappers due to there size and weight. When scrap was high many of them were crushed when the Junkyards "crushed out" their old heavy dinosaurs for top dollar
If there were an endangered species list for cars the 74-77 Dodge Monaco should be right up top!

Wonder what the story is on the header panel. It looks like it’s molded into the fender extensions, seams are in the wrong place

Hi NCBLUES, Nothing would make me happier than for this 77 Royal with a 74 appearance to fetch $10K. That means that 75-77 Royals looking like a 74 that are more screen accurate could get $15K, and better yet a movie accurate true 74 Monaco could get $20K. Was it Goldy that went up for sale for $17K recently? Now, in my judgement, that one is worth every bit of $17K.
Good point, GTOPat. I didn't notice that at first!

Good catch, looks to me, it has '77 fenders and he fiberglassed the header panel to include the '74 fender ends. If u look close, it looks a little wonky above the headlights..'74 fenders are hard to find.
