I wish you luck, also would be neat if you could come out to Olcott car show next year, on a clear day you can see Toronto from the park where it is held. That is where they filmed mostly for second movie. I second that -- when the horror story of this body shop is behind you, it would be great if you could join BB2K movie cars 43 and 66 and maybe a Monaco or two next year. Olcott, New York, is just east of Buffalo. The show should be on Saturday, September 5th (2020).

I used Maaco for the basic paint on both my CV and Monaco as well, then just scruffed up the paint. But grok you're kind of locked in for now, good luck!!

I'll see how it goes. I wanted to have it painted by the end of the summer so I could start on the stencils.

The reason I didn't go to Maaco in the first place had to do with body rot. My Crown Victoria is a native New England car, and as a result, it has some rot that needs to be fixed. Both front fenders have to be replaced, as well as other rust outs along the car. I have used this present shop before to repair frame rot on the Crown Victoria, and he did a very good job on it. He offered to paint the car sometime down the line, and when I told him that I was going to convert it into the Bluesmobile, he got very excited. So I decided to to give him the job. This was before he lost his entire work crew. As far as I know, the only two still working there are his brother and himself. So I will have to ride it out.

I was able to upload the car which we soon hope to see as a Blues Brothers 2000 clone.
Regarding frame rot, in the past I have gone to welding shops for frame repair. NY winters are not good to these cars.
Regarding shop, I have places I go to as well and sometimes when they get used to you, especially if you are getting a good deal. Sometimes they lower your priority at bit to handle others. If you like them and they like you well patience is golden.
Sometimes the wait is long though say a year or two, in that case you may want to rethink your plan.
I wish you well though and hope to hear updates as you come along. Most times I stick it out in that case, only rarely to I pull the car.

I probably should have gone to Maaco in the first place. I would have ignored the body rot, and just told them to spray over it. However, I decided to have the rust removed.

I drove by the body shop after I got out of work today, and it looks like no further work has been done to it since I last spoke to the owner.

An update of sorts. When I got back from work, there was a message on my machine from the body shop. He said that he is working on the car. I don't know what that entails specifically, but at least there is some progress.

Hopefully it will happen. I might have to find a front passenger side door to replace mine because the bottom is rusted out.

Yes, they are. Those photographs are the ones that I saved from the ad. I don't have any photographs of the passenger side door. The bottom is completely rotted away.

Well, it has now been over a year since I dropped the car off. I don't know when it will be finished, or at all because of this virus.

I don't know when it will be finished, I guess they could still be considered honest people, just the world's worst at what they do.? I dunno, I hope you get your car back soon, if there's scumbaggery afoot they'll probably just keep the money at this point, "storage" don't ya know. But hey, a nice Crown Vic! Come home soon.
