I’ll say hi in the welcome forum in a bit !!
At last I might have found a C body I can afford !! It’s a 74 I think Plymouth grand fury custom . It’s the closest I’m going to get to a Monaco so I’m after some buying tips for it ??
The cars a Montana car with a 400 2 barrel ( frozen up ) and auto , guessing it’s a 727 , Unfortunately it been sitting in a junk yard since ‘94 however apart from it missing the trim around the driver side headlights , wiper motors a/ c pump & radiator are AWOL ,smashed windshield , passenger rear glass missing , and a few marker lamps it’s alarmingly complete having sat for so long
Here’s the good being a Montana car it’s pretty rust free , all I can find is 2 quarter sized bubbles on the bottom of the quarter panel
The question is is there anywhere really nasty they rot out underneath im going to get it up in the air to have a good look , however it’d be good to know what I’m looking for
Many thanks James

Check the firewall very carefully, that's the main area on these cars as it's structural. Check the ends of the cowl for rust, tricky as these are covered by the fenders and hood hinge area, and down below where the front subframe bolts to the floor. Trunk and lower 1/4s, trunk drop-downs, and front floor pans are also trouble spots.

Ok so I got it picked up it’s a Montana car from new and has never seen any salt , the underside is pretty much rock solid on the firewall around the subframe and cowls My next question is is it worth doing 😐 the cars $600 , but to get it home to kansa is another $1800 , it’s been sitting in a junk yard since 94 , however the 400ci motor still rolls over , the down side is just about all the interior in the back is ruined as it’s had a window removed , and the front screens hanging on by a thread , I’ve managed to secure parts off two New Yorkers in the yard to replace the hard to find parts ( windscreen wiper mechanisms completely gone ) It’s not worth restoring however I’d like it as a bluesmobile replica that way it doesn’t have to be perfect i

I say get it. I did the same thing and got a parts car where shipping was more that the car BUT scored some good stuff. I probably have what you need, a blue interior and a tan one, headliners. Plenty of glass and trim etc etc. Stephen 337-499-44 three five.
