I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen cars painted with a broom.

holy shite - you mean to tell me a body shop really touched this? I've done some bad body work but that 1/4 is some next level shit. And the paint, I don't even understand how the giant ass windshield trim could look as it does in the photos.
The white and brown paint make this look like a half aborted blues mobile clone by a three year old. What color was it before?
Whatever you do be careful with the headlight bezels, I think they are just a shitty plate job on plastic.
FWIW I used the aircraft stripper on my front fenders and it worked okay but it was still a bit of work to remove the original paint. The chemicals are pretty nasty though, you should really have a paint suit and respirator for such a big job. The real pain is rinsing it out of all the little cracks and such and the stuff. It was difficult even with the fenders off. The stripper seems to encourage rust if you don't remove it completely (not to mention probably destroying your paint job!)

I know how paint stripper works, I've been in the body business for 30 years, that's why I'm talking about media/soda blasting. Stripper would work, it'd take a long time but coating the car heavily and wrapping it in plastic several times would get it done but it'd be messy. I've never dealt with paint this thick before. I know about the headlight doors, I have 2 extra sets, one on my parts car and ones I bought from fordjockey from when he replaced them on his CHP Monaco, I also have his original bumpers.

Holy crap.! Almost looks like house paint. I've seen lemons cars painted with a roller that came out better than that. Trunk pockets look good though!

Damn dude! Can't say I have ever seen a car look like that, and I have seen cars with carpet on them, vinyl flooring, you name it, but that poor old girl looks like it was being mummified or something. Glad you saved her/it.

I bet after you remove all that whitey will sit a couple inches higher.
That much bondo had to add a bunch of weight.

That's impressive. Mind you, not for the right reasons. But impressive none the less.

I'll be honest, if it was me, I'd pull the clip off and crush the rest. God bless you sir.

I'll be honest, if it was me, I'd pull the clip off and crush the rest. God bless you sir. I'd buy a hideaway headlight car, swap noses and sell it to a derby guy before crushing it. It's just a 52,000 mile car with a shit load of paint on it and a fucked up dash board, it's not as bad as half of the cars we see come up for sale, just uglier. If it was stripped and painted nobody would have a problem with it. If I have it blasted and paint it and changed the dash and door panels the car would look awesome. It's better than half of the ones we see for sale, just uglier.

I think I might box up all of the paint I'm chiseling off and mail it to the bodyshop he used to have paint it with no note or return address, I wonder if they'd get it.
