I need suggestions on what 9.25 will bolt up to a 77 Monaco? Mine has a 8.25 now and that's not gonna work for my build. Is there a car I can look for that will make this swap easy? Other option is 8.75..But I'm sure it would need surgery to work. Suggestions please. Thanks

'74 Monacos and other C-bodies came with 8 1/4, 8 3/4, and 9 1/4 rears so an 8 3/4 isn't unheard of as a bolt in, just not as common. Any '74-'78 C-Body rear should bolt in.I assume you are asking about a Royal Monaco, when you ask for advise and parts remember the Monaco in '77 was a B-Body and the Royal Monaco was the C-body.

Also of I remember correctly the driveshaft is also a different length I think you would have to shorten yours a little or grab the shaft out of the donor.

Yea sorry..I keep forgetting the B & C body 77. I did locate a 9.25 from a Imperial that has factory disc brakes.

If you do that make sure you grab the proportioning valve and I believe the master cylinder is different. Also depending on the budget you have for this build I would check on price and availability of the parts for the disc brake rear, I know a few years ago they were outrageous.

Rockauto seems to have most of it, rotors, calipers, etc. Is there a part that u know of that would be expensive or hard to find? Gonna buy a new master cylinder, I'd never use anything like that from a salvage yard.

Back in the day someone told me calipers and rotors were almost impossible to get for them, it was the late eighties and only dealers sold them, I didn't know if they ever became common for the aftermarket

Mopar has been riding the 9.25 band wagon now for ever. Even the Dakotas, Durangos, and Rams have them..From what I can tell nothing has changed over the years other than the different widths they came in. Wasn't really looking for discs but these kinda feel in my lap.
