I'm just going to have fun with it for the next year or two. Great news! Thanks for the update. Most important thing I figure would be to keep her running smoothly with a healthy burnout once in awhile, lol. Very cool that the car has made it home to Illinois.

After buying "Aretha" I was surprised to come across a solid 74 Monaco minus Engine, Trans, Exhaust in West Virginia (but its home was Arnold, Missouri until 2009). I bought it and shipped it to Chicago. Found a great guy whose full time job it is to fix Joliet Police's fleet, and he picked everything out of Aretha and put it in to the solid Monaco, originally green with green interior. Was able to drive it a little last summer and had it in a parade. Fresh coat of paint is going to be put on any day now. Followed by new interior and headliner. Hopeful the project will be done in April. Thanks to cynot for drilling the hole for the Unity spotlight.
I picked through Aretha about a month ago, and she went to the crusher. The floors were really rusty, the frame was junk, but it was just what I needed for the rest of the project. It went to the crusher a few weeks ago.
I'll get some pics up soon.

was able to get all of the "Parchment" colored interior out of there. The rear package tray and dashboard got destroyed. Traded the rear bumper to Spyphish (Thank you!). Kept the taillights, 74 speedometer, front bumper, grill, header panel, headlight assembly, windshield and rear glass. I should have kept the hood and trunk, but didn't. The frame was in fact rotted out and once i looked under the carpet, many more holes that I thought. It explains how ants kept appearing in the car. It went to the junk yard in Joliet about a month ago. I think they crushed it within a couple of days. I'll start a new thread with the progress of my "Joliet Bluesmobile". The prep on the paint job started on Monday.
