Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, and I'm a professional Elwood Blues tribute artist, with an authentic Blues Brothers tribute show here in South Florida. This past weekend should've been one of the greatest weekends of my life because I thought I was finally going to obtain the dream car I've wanted for several years: a Blumo. Apparently, fate has a twisted sense of humor, in the fact that one of the members of this forum: Greenjacket, had promised to sell me his Blumo, and then totally flaked out on me. This was after two weeks of phone calls and emails giving me his absolute word of honor, and promising to sell me the car for the agreed price that he had decided. It was also after the fact that as a courtesy, I withdrew the entire cash amount in $100 bills from my bank because I promised him cash, and after I had arranged a hotel room, and paid a deposit to the truck shipping company in order to transport the car back to South Florida. Either Greenjacket was never serious about wanting to really sell the car, or he killed the deal because he got a better offer from somewhere else, but was not man enough to tell me honestly. Instead, he flipped his lid over me asking him some simple questions about the car's condition, after we had made the deal over the amount. He claims he was upset and insulted over my questions, which were nothing more than standard disclosure questions that any two normal and sane people work out before a sale. For the record: I would have never haggled or tried to get the car for less, even if there were major problems with the car. I gave my word to him, and I'm a man of honor that would've stood by that. What really added insult to injury for me, was when he claimed that "maybe I wasn't ready to own a car like this," and that I my "line of questioning had forced him to realize that he wanted to keep the car after all." Let me state for the record: that I happen to own 5 classic cars at this time, and I have bought, restored, and sold close to at least 40 in my time. Your assumption was way off, Allan. I've got a lot more vehicle restoration/mechanical experience than you do, and I've known the most intricate details of the 74-77 Dodge Monaco models since I was a kid. I'm sure you guys can understand how this is a dirty rotten thing to do to somebody after giving your word to them, building their hopes and dreams up, especially when my birthday is just a couple days around the corner. Yeah, it was going to be the best birthday present to myself, ever, but I guess that's destroyed now. Look, I understand the way the world works: Im a Sicilian born and raised in Chicago's south side, I'm a musician/performer, and I know that money talks and BS walks. The sad part about Greenjacket's action is that I would've paid a lot more money than he had asked for. In the future, Greenjacket, don't post that you have a car for sale if you're not really serious about completing the transaction. So this is the reason why I just joined this forum. I come to you gentlemen as your kindred spirit in the Blues Brothers, and as an honest and serious buyer with cash who is willing to pay top dollar for a 1974 Monaco, if any of you guys have one for sale, or know of any that are for sale. Money is not an object for me, and I look forward to possibly doing business with any of you fellas out there that might have one for sale. Thanks for reading my disappointing tale, and I'm sorry to be so upset. Hopefully one of you can help to make my dream come true.
