...and one and only all over northern Germany and beyond too, I guess: It's Bluzman's former "Blues-Mo-Better-good-mobile", which I imported to Europe two months ago. After posting some infos on the "Bluesmobiles on YouTube" thread... Read more: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/138/bluesmobiles-on-youtube?page=8#ixzz3plNYqR9l...here's a little more of what happened. Pic 1: Bluesmobile arriving in Hamburg. Pic 2: Oct. 16, 2015 marked the 35th anniversary of the release of Blues Brothers in Germany. So we had a big movie event at a local arthouse theater that night, incl. costumed penguins and BBs, open bar, SNL video clips, and of course my Bluesmobile parked in front of the movie theater. It was BIG fun!! Pic 3: Finally legal with German license plates ("HH" for "Hansestadt Hamburg").

^ Looked like a fun night indeed, Ulrich. Did the Penguin bless the Bluesmobile? Great looking car, the poster in the back window is a nice touch.

At a recent classic car meeting in Hamburg, Germany. Oops, the Good ole' boys are here. I should quickly get in the car and sign that cheque on the glove compartment door...

Ulrich, I am glad you got the engine sorted out. Looks like you are having a blast and enjoying her too! Your friend always-Steve (Bluzman)

Steve, Absolutely! She's doing better and better. Had to invest in new starter and new battery. Fires up real fine now. :-) Next steps: fixing radio/CD (cable issues in engine compartment) and spotlight (short circuit). And before fall and winter are coming: undercoating. I'll keep you and everybody here updated. Hit it! Your friend Ulrich

Maaany exciting events this last weekend... Will report soon! First this: My favorite football team - FC St. Pauli, Hamburg - lost three times in a row. So special support was called for: Took the Bluesmobile to the home game on Saturday and drove her right up to the stadium. The game turned out great; 2 to 1 victory goal in the very last minute! You can imagine the party mood afterwards, with many Blumo photo ops and a couple of beers, too.

Ulrich, I have a Blues Brothers movie question for you: To a German audience, are the Illinois Nazis considered funny, or is it still a sensitive subject?

AZB,
Making fun of and ridiculing Nazis is fortunately happening all over the place and in many forms nowadays in Germany. However, yes, in general the whole Nazi topic is still kind of a sensitive subject, too.
So when the Nazi boss appears on the screen in close up, delivering his speech, it could be like "...What the...?!?..." But then the fun starts and German audiences love it! In the German dubbed version Jake says something like "I hate those Nazi bastards!", leaving out the Illinois reference. When Elwood pushes the pedal to the floor and the Bluesmobile sends the Nazis off the bridge, movie audiences cheer and holler and clap whenever I saw the film in a theatre. Same (or even more) later on when the Pinto falls from the sky. 😎 Of course I live in a big city in western Germany and I've never been to movie theatres in them notorious, obscure and remote villages in the east... Come to think of it, there probably ain't any more movie theatres, anyway. 😉 Greetings Ulrich

Thanks for the answer, Ulrich. I kind of had a feeling. Very cool that John Landis was there, and posed with you guys.
