Does anyone know when Rick Shields built the HOB cars? Cambridge HOB opened in 1992, Orlando in 1997 but Orlando's car was HOB 2 and Cambridge was HOB 3. Also does anyone know how many HOB cars were made? These two are only ones I see any info about online. I do recall seeing New Orleans' car on EBAY after the floods so I know of 3. Thanks

- I think there was more than one Blumo at HOB Orlando. #2 went to Sweden, bought by Mr. and Mrs. Blues. Then we had a thread for a '76 with a '74 clip which was apparently a HOB Orlando car. And if the plaque on the dash is correct it was #8.
I don't have anymore info than that, that I can think of. TK would have a better handle on these cars, and of course you could send Huey a message on facebook. Or, try the number on the plaque, maybe Rick will answer.

- The member at BBC who drew up the pushbar plans that some here have used, also bought a HoB car. 'JKNLWUD' had this info from a thread at BBC, in a response to pomybloke about HoB #8 ...
From what he told me when we talked before, during and after the purchase of my car from him years ago, he had a contract to build cars for HOB. he built a total of 13 cars for various HOB locations. All of them slightly different due to the configuration of the donor cars. One car had a 440 motor and all of the correct police parts. The rest were smaller motors with all civilian parts. At the conclusion of the contract he got most of the cars back from HOB and ended up selling them off. (Including the one 440 car, which is the one I ended up with). Most of the cars that I saw had small numbers on the front bumper on the end to identify the car number. There was usually an engraved plastic plate on the dash with Rick's company info on it. And some cars had the our Lady of Blessed Acceleration quote on a small engraved plate on the dash as well.
My particular car ran at Daytona one year, went to Chicago for a HOB grand opening up there and was driven by Dan Aykroyd a few times at events. I've done some detailing work to my car since I brought it home. I designed a set of screen accurate pushbars for the car. I've redone most of the logos and lettering. I've removed the HOB Orlando Logos and taken it back to a "stock" Bluesmobile. But I still have the plates from the dash, the FL license plate it had when it was at HOB Orlando. Some plastic license plates Rick sent with the car. And some other random display stuff.
In addition to the Pushbar and the refined logos on the car, I've got a set of custom stamped license plates that I'm going to weather to match the movie. I've made custom reflective validation stickers for those plates to match the movie, I've put together some smaller items as well for the car. (A correct Chesterfield cigarette pack, and some other small details.)
