Hello......just want to quickly introduce myself. Although new to the forum, I am not new to the police package car be it MoPar, Ford or GM. My passion is the MoPar. I purchased my first 76 Gran Fury PP in 1983, and I loved these cars ever since. Over the years I have bought and sold many police package cars including variations of the M body, B, C, F, and R bodies.
Currently, I own 4 police package cars: 77 Gran Fury U Code (South Dakota HP); 84 Chevy Impala (low Profile Bomb Squad Unmarked with Phoenix PD); 85 Ford LTD (Fox -- 5.0, Full Unmarked AZ DPS); and a 94 Caprice LT1 (Phoenix PD). They are all in various conditions, but all dry and decent drivers, except for the LTD....that is beginning a long term restoration this winter into 2016.
.....and of course the Blues Brothers just made the passion worse......in a good way I hope. :-)

Welcome! The '84 Impala is a beauty. So the current LVPD 1974 Monaco was purchased by them from you? I'm not sure if we've ever seen a pic of it when it was like this ... Very cool I'll have to go back and look at your albums later, looks like lots of pics. Saw the Monaco in this album ... public.fotki.com/montegocj/past_police_package/ What I did was copy the url of the pic, paste it here, highlight it and click the "Insert Image" icon above. Seems to have worked. Thanks for joining us here!

Here's the back story to the car. Back in the 90's, I aquired this from a private owner in West Phoenix. I'm going from memory, but I believe it was a DK41N car. It was orginally from the Rockford, IL PD. The car was a bit beat up, but it had no rust and it was all there. Easy to make a driver.
Now the deal I made with LV Metro. I was contacted by them after my name was passed along to them as having a 74 Monaco available. They were looking to restore one to celebrate the seperation of the LVPD from Clark County. No money changed hands in this deal. I was willing to 'donate' the car to LVPD if they would comp room and food in Vegas fora weekend. They agreed. They also gave me a ton of great photos from the late 60's and 70's of Clark County and LVPD cars, including a really nice picture of a 77 Gran Fury. Now you know where that car came from......
