Tried charging the AC in my car for the first time only to find a nice size leak in the A/C condenser. Anyone have a good one or know where I can buy a new reproduction? I tried all my usual sources with no luck. Even asked my local radiator shop and he said he cant fix the aluminum.

Ended up calling Classic Auto Air who restored my A/C lines. They recommended Classic Condensers. I could only find them on ebay www.ebay.com/usr/ccsautoparts but Classic Auto Air gave me their phone number. Very nice folks, woman who answered was busy but said she would call me back, and to my surprise she did! They did not have a Monaco condenser in stock however she told me they had the specs for it and could have it made by the end of the week! I held my breath when I asked how much ?!?!?!? $190! I think that is very reasonable for a new condenser, I was expecting a lot more. Hope to have it in hand next week.

There are always condensers on ebay for these cars, fairly cheap too.

This is like playing "whack a mole". Started with new lines, new compressor, new expansion valve and new drier. Tried to charge it and the condenser leaked. Got a new custom made condenser which fit great only to find out the evaporator is now leaking. I pressure tested the damn thing with compressed air in a tank of water, but I did the same with the condenser as well and it still leaked. In theory the evap should not see as much pressure as the condenser but oh well. Called the place that built the condenser, they do not have a pattern for the Evaporator but if I send them my old one they can either fix it or use it as a pattern to build a new one. Its great that they can fix it but I'd like to get another evap unit to send out so I don't have to tear my dash apart and leave it apart for weeks while I wait for a repair. Anyone have an extra AC Evaporator lying around?

Yes! This is the one loose end on my project that needs to be tied up. How much do you want for it?
