What are you guys with 440 cars running? I have a radiator in nice shape from a 400 car for my swap/build, it's a two row. I'd like a three row but I can't find any listing on one. Is the 2 row good enough for a warmed over 440 with A/C in the desert? I'm suspect at best.

the last one I bought from Oreillys was a 2 core, but it was a wide 2 core, seemed to be closer to the size of a 3 core, definetly better than the factory 2 core. also, if you get a factory 3 core, as long as the tanks are in descent shape, there are companies that can build them back to original. I've got a friend that does it for a living. he does lots of tractors radiators and gas tanks, as long as he has mostly the original shape, he can build just about anything.

Thanks, I wasn't aware that some of the new ones were wide 2 rows. Makes sense. Around here, there is a radiator company that will convert a stocker to a three row - but at over $500, I'd rather look around.

I found a bunch of aluminum radiators on EBAY for Monacos. Prices start around $175, but I am not so sure of the quality. They all claim made in USA, lifetime guarantee etc... but the price seems too good to be true. I would like to try one but my luck it would leak. Seems too cheap for a quality part.

Oreilly part number 433506 $206.99, but if you have shop account its more like $180 if I remember correctly and they are copper tank and brass core - It don't look like a wide 2 core, just regular but not positive link

If it's any consolation, I run a 2-core, 6-cylinder radiator in my slightly warmed-over Ford 302/C4 combo in the ol' '62 Ratwagon; I've never had an issue with it overheating here in Florida, even in the summertime. I'm going to use the 2-core, 360 radiator that came with my cop car, when I drop the 440 in the Blumo, and I'm hoping to have the same good luck. Rob

I have a 2 row high efficiency rad (that's what I was told when purchased) and its never over heated my 440 .
The tanks are a lot smaller than my original which I should of kept to have it redone . Also helps to have a separate trans cooler to keep the heat down . Mine came with a huge factory one .

Yep...there's no substitute for an external trans cooler, a temp guage (not an idiot light), and extra electric cooling fans (there's plenty of room). I ran a 2-core 318 radiator in my '68 Dart 440 (now the Blumo mill) for years on the street, and never had an overheating problem (just a rear traction one, lol). Rob
