- Should we add clone to the title of this one? I thought back then that this car was at one time a Star Car Hire car. They're into supplying movie cars etc. for weddings etc., England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. www.starcarhire.co.uk/Drivers spot seems too low on the A-pillar. Are those speakers on the rear deck? Should have double red lights on the rear deck drivers side, I think. Plus the low price for a CHP cop car in Ireland, £5500. The ball at the base of the antenna should be black, heh. I think I might maybe remember this car from youtube vids from a lad who might have actually been a member at da BBC. I can't find any of those vids right now. I'd say she's a clone, though.  |

It's a clone! Single exhaust is the biggest tell tale sign. Police package Polora have dual exhaust. As Steam mentioned the antenna ball should be black! Also has incorrect lightbar mounts, CHP used gutter mounts not hook mounts. Incorrect slotted hubcaps and wheels, push bar is not even close to right and not extended far enough!The decals are '99 newer markings, the stars original for 73 had no color center. Steam CHP did mount their spotlights really low, also the correct colors for rear deck lights for CHP is red/amber not red/red. Also CHP vehicles with lightbars were NOT equipped with rear deck lights,only the slick tops had them. Also just to be technical it IS correct to find rear deck lights on a 72 Dodge CHP Polora only because the Twinsonic CTS' s were mounted on these cars for testing purposes from Federal Signal. CHP ' S test bars were red/red not red blue. Pretty neat huh!?  All those restored Polora and Monaco ' s with rear deck lights and light bars running around are incorrect! It is common in the police car hobby for some owners to add more lights than the vehicle was originally equipped with to keep up with today's overdone modern lighting standards. It is frowned upon but also accepted due to they are original CHP equipment that CHP did run. Anyone notice that Starsky and Hutch Ford Torino in the first pic? |

Hi, We never sold that car in the end. Funny how you say its a clone when it has some details to say otherwise. The add at the time was never intended to mislead anyone about the car being genuine or otherwise. |

Reading through the thread it looks like we never knew for sure if it was civilian or police package, speculation was all we had  . Are you thinking about putting the big ol' Dodge up for sale again? |

Hi There, It needs a good bit of work at this stage. If someone would restore it and give it a good home then I would sell it. I restore cars for a living and have been doing that for nearly forty years at this stage however its hard to find time to do your own stuff.
