I just looked at the calendar and realized that mid-June is the ELEVENTH anniversary of purchasing my Monaco and making it into a Bluesmobile. And yes, it's still my DAILY DRIVER. And I'm not talking about "nice sunny days close to home" daily driver, I'm talking about all day, every day. Rain, snow, shine... Sure there are days that I get odd looks from people at a traffic light, but it's been darn dependable, the satellite radio works just fine, and I just had the AC recharged...
I'll have to post some photos soon! The paint is getting pretty faded and it's starting to show where we repaired the quarter panel rust, but I don't have the cash to get it repaired and repainted any time soon, so I'll just keep on driving it!

^ That's some good stuff right there! Eleven years ... wow. I've never owned a car that long, but then again I've never owned a Blumo, haha. Happy birthday to your Bluesmobile!

Interestingly, we've owned a LOT of cars & trucks over the years as my wife and I used to buy & sell musclecars, parts, etc, and would take cars & rolling bodies up north for friends of mine. But other than the yellow 1971 Plymouth Road Runner (hence my screen name) that we've owned for over 28 years the Bluesmobile has been the longest that I have ever owned a daily driver by a LONG shot. I was actually driving a NICE Ford Countour SVT that I had picked up at an auction to "fluff & buff" and to flip it when i found the Monaco. As soon as we got the Monaco converted to a Bluesmobile, someone that I knew asked me about buying the Contour from me. We decided that I'd get the AC working and would put a Sirius radio in the Bluesmobile and that I'd use it as my daily for "a little while". Since then, it's done car show and parade duty, and I've driven it out to our old house in the country (4 hours away) full of tools and supplies, it's been a "sign" of sorts for our band shows, and it's (knock on wood) never let me down in 11 years other than a pinhole in the radiator causing it to try to overheat on the way home from work once about 8 years ago... A few years ago, I swapped out the original engine for another Craigslist engine and rebuilt the front suspension at the same time. The body now has about 278,000 miles on it, and the engine (supposedly) has about 150,000 on it. It still drives and rides just fine! I also added some photos of various pretty ladies standing & sitting on the car on the band's Facebook page.
