Do you realize that this is the only forum I have seen on the internet that everyone actually gets along and compliment each others achievements, where the members don't insult and argue with each other, and there is no jealousy with nasty comments when someone has better than someone else. You guy's have actually perfected it! (By the way, that's why this is also the only forum I have joined and stayed with. I recently joined a new facebook group for another hobby of mine that only has 30 members and there is that one that is already showing how great he is by knocking everyone else's shit so I'm about to drop that one)
Good job everyone!

I think that the main reason for that is that this is a site populated by individuals with a legitimate passion for the hobby, not full of shameless self-promoters who are only looking to make a quick buck off of others.
Though, even so, it is somewhat amazing that we all can interpret our hobby in unique ways without stepping on other's toes. I know I'm always glad to help fellow members out and sell off parts that I have a spare of at cost to further the hobby and, as I've been the recipient of good will here, I've tried to pass it on as well.
There's one particular story that comes to mind for me:
I got a spotlight with no internal mechanism on eBay because the seller misrepresented it and wouldn't take it back, but then bagman gave me one at no cost. To repay the kindness, when yellowrr needed a new speedometer, I decided that, instead of charging him $10.00 for one of my spares, the right thing to do was repay the kindness that I had been shown and give it to him free of charge.
There are a few other deals that I've made with members on this board as well; case-in-point, every deal with TK826 has been excellent.
It's a great community and I don't want to be too boastful, either, as I'm here for a love of the hobby and am glad to see I'm not alone.

- Thanks for the kind words, Adam. We do indeed have a good batch of members here. Except for flcl ... definitely a trouble maker there.

Well, that's 'cause you're a poopyhead!!! There, I said it!!! Sorry... HAD TO do it! Actually, it IS nice to be here. Which reminds me... your avatar looks like something that would have been posted on "the HAMB"? If you know what THAT is, you probably also know that at least half of us that used to post there on a regular basis have walked away from the drama and the nit-picky old guys who want to point out the faults of the younger guys or to criticize everything that isn't done THEIR way... Can anyone tell me what is going on over at Blues Brothers Central? It's a ghost town and the main page hasn't been updated for years... I'm pretty sure that many of you are over there sometimes too, so read my thread about "Feeling Like Twiggy Standing In Front Of The Motel..." thread if you're really bored some time. It's a shame, because there were a lot of cool resources over there and I learned a lot and shared a lot of what I knew at the time. Is it ever going to come back from the brink, or has it already "jumped the shark"? Best regards to all of you!!! Keep up the good work in the forums too! I certainly appreciate it!

[quote looks like something that would have been posted on "the HAMB"? If you know what THAT is, The HAMB is the worst offender of childish jealousy on the internet. Any thread on there turns into a pissing contest of I know more about your car than you do, I hate it. This is the only forum I participate on, it's a good group.

Yeah, I joined the HAMB years ago, but got tired of the petty bullshit...I never go there, now.

All those idiots on the HAMB do is post pics of others peoples cars and knock everything about them. And when they do post tech stuff, half of them have no clue what they speak of, it's amazing.

I couldn't agree more 58hemifury. It's ridiculous over there. Haven't been back in about 2 years now. My last post got removed for not being "traditional" enough. It was about fabricating linkage to replace the old vacuum windshield wiper "motor" with an electric one. Safer, more reliable, totally hidden from view, the wipers still work when you're accelerating or climbing a hill... Can't have that!!! :\
I also just stopped in at the "central" website for the first time in a couple of years as well. Still nothing has changed over there. Duck Dunn has been gone for about 1,500 days now according to the front page.
I'll freely admit that my Bluesmobile has a handful of things that aren't all that "correct" but oh well! It has served me well and 99.9% of the people that have seen it at our events have never noticed the inaccuracies. I've never had the time, the money, or the inclination to change the interior color, to remove the vent windows, etc...
Just as an FYI, I've moved to south central Louisiana for my "real job". So, if anyone along the gulf shores needs a Bluesmobile at an event...
Thanks!
