There are several variants of spotlights from this era. The white-handled one: These typically have a larger identifying tag opposite the bezel screw that provides access to the light bulb as well. Here's a close-up shot of the tag: And a few more tags that were available; pending on what type of vehicle it was fitted to: I include this as many departments would re-use spotlights from year-to-year and, while the police cars of the '70s were predominantly fitted with black-handled lights, these could still be found regularly; especially among smaller departments. The most relevant to this board is the black-handled one that we're all familiar with: Note the flatter identification tag at the top; handles can be interchanged with the white-handled variant in most cases. Here's another image to show the tag better: There's the CHP variant: Essentially, a standard Unity S6 with a flat black paint job and red-tinted bulb. Then there's this variant: It's a conventional Unity S6 Spotlight, but the tag is mounted 90° to the right of the bezel screw. It's not so simple of a change as replacing the ring, either, if you want to go from one type to the other. There's a notch in the spotlight housing that the corresponding tab in the bezel resides in.

Now, for those concerned with Bluesmobile spotlight accuracy, it's a Unity S6 with 180° tag mounting.
Also, I forgot to mention that the CHP lights could have a secondary wire so that they flashed with the other lights when in pursuit.

Great item. I see that the seller has it described: We know that it was used on more than the 74 Monaco (such as the Fury and New Yorker). But I was intrigued by this statement: > The hole for a 215 was drilled from the inside out. and asked the seller if she had a source for that info (such as if she'd seen a jig, or spoke with a factory worker). She responded: heheh, we're famous!

The spot lights with the tag 90 degrees off to the side are for roof mounting.
