- That "Break-In Bash" is happening right now! There's booze at the party and a special drink is available called, "Prison Blues." I didn’t make it to this event because I was rushing to meet Cynot in Orland Park for the car show featuring a Jim Morrison cover band and the main event...The Blues Brothers. I’ll check out the Joliet paper tomorrow and post the article. Yes, that mural is a few blocks south of the prison on Collins Street. A few blocks from that is coincidentally Elwood Street.

Some shots from the Joliet Historical Museum . Very cool, TK.  There's a mini-documentary uploaded last month about the artists who went into the "Burnt District" to salvage some stuff for artwork. In this drone footage, also from last month, as the drone begins its slow ascent you can clearly see the Burnt District on the left side ... ----- Here's the concert from the Break-In (August 24). It's good, different cameras and angles, some interviews and stuff between the bands. Hot Mess is a cover band from Boston and they were doing some Led Zeppelin tunes  . There's some good Blues stuff, too. I guess it was streamed live and I forgot to post the link for that but here's the video, 6 and a half hours! |

Each of those pieces of art are on display in a dedicated room at the museum, with the video playing in a loop.

- The Blooze Brothers had their Blumo at the Joliet party this summer. If we get a confirmed date for Dan being there in 2020 we'll start a Joliet thread in the yet to be created "Bluesmobile Meetings 2020" category. Maybe a few more cars would show up for good ol' Elwood himself.  - reelchicago.com/article/joliet-prison/Timing would be great if Dan at Joliet coincided with Bluesmobile night at Cruise Nights. And everything was organized around the 1980 release date of the movie, June 20th which is a Saturday in 2020 ! |
