Greeting from The Nighttrain! I am a recovering Bluesmobile addict (10 years straight) I used to comb the land searching for Monacos. Back in my day the internet as we know it today didn't exist. So if you wanted a Monaco you have to drive around looking in backyards, alleys, fields, junkyards, ect. Then it seems like when you did find one getting it separated from its owner was another thing alltogether. I built one Bluesmobile and my best friend and I did a decent tribute act for a few years. Later I met Huey, and I went to work for him at a fabrication shop he had at the time. In our spare time we searched for Monacos and Huey bought every one of them he could, even mine! Oh the stories Huey and I could tell! Getting cussed, lied to and I dont know what all in the pursuit of these cars. I have lost contact with Huey and I sure do miss him. As any of you who have dealt with him know he is as good a person as you can find.( I can't say the same for myself) Anyway, If your out there Hue,contact me I have found some Monacos that were right under our nose's the whole time!

Folks, that Bluesmobile there seen a lot of action. See how the bumper is messed up? That was from going up a very steep gas pipeline, from a 70mph run, getting airborne at the top and hitting a tree. My passenger busted his forehead and the windshield on that one. The drivers door got buckled back in a drunken race with a clone of the Grand Prix from the movie. That car was the cause of much public and private property damage not to mention at least 3 divorces. Heres an action shot taken by Huey himself of me and my brother getting in...

That is, indeed, a Fiero in the backround, as well as the silver-and-black car pictured directly behind the Monaco. I just restored an '84.

Heres one I was getting ready to work on. Iwent all the way to NC to get it. It had been an unmarked Police car,but a semi driver went to sleep and almost sent me and my son to the great beyond.

Here's my "office" when I worked for Huey. You could never tell what Huey might bring in and where he would put it. I came in late one day and there this thing was sitting on blocks.

A little better action shot by Huey, He shot several rolls of film that day but wal-mart lost most of them.

It had been an unmarked Police car,but a semi driver went to sleep Quite the pic. As you know, lots of us here also loves them P72's. This appears to be a great example of crumple zones doing their job ... but it could just be the way the truck hit you ... Must have knocked the Ray-Ban's right off your noggin!

By the time this pic was taken my old blumo had seen its better days. It had been impounded twice, lived in by me, slid off an on ramp with a carload of strippers when the waterpump shaft broke and sent the fan into the radiator, killing the power steering and brakes at about 50 mph in the pouring rain, not to mention stolen for a joyride and abandoned by a dude who outran the local cops with it... That took some explaining cause it was a buddy of mine who went for a drunken beer run in it without me knowing. He ran a red light, they pulled him over but before they could get a good look at him he showered them with gravel and hid the car in the weeds. They got a good enough look at him to see it wasn't me(he's around 5'9" with long hair and beard and I'm 6'8") I just had to convince them I didn't know who he was. That was also when I had to let them find the car and impound it even though I knew where he had hid it. He took the keys out of it and give them to me when he abandoned it, but I couldn't just go get it and take off when I wasn't supposed to know it was gone! "Yes officer thats why I didn't report it, see I was home it bed with my wife not laying drunk at my buddies house with some $20 whores"( they was just "whores" back then not these "crack whores" like they got nowadays) Good times...good times....

I had put an aftermarket stereo in it and didn't fasten it in good. That truck hit my son and I without warning, we were stopped making a left hand turn and BAM! It knocked us over in a 12' ditch and knocked me out for a few seconds. When I came to the car was standing on its nose in the ditch. Look over and my sons face was covered in blood. That radio had flew out of the dash and slashed the top of his head wide open. He was crying and saying "what happened daddy I can't see!". He was ok,just blood in his eyes but it that is one of the most terrifying moments of my life seeing him like that.

Holy lord, it sure must have been. I'm guessing that no matter what condition you yourself are in, it has no meaning when you look over and see your child in a bad situation. On a lighter note, thanks for posting the BluMo photos, as you have filled a missing puzzle piece that I have wondered about for years. I have had the below photo stored in a file I call "Unknown Bluesmobiles", since 2007. Does it look familiar? * Maybe you already have this photo?

Yes that is my old Bluesmobile! See the front bumper? Thats where I hit the tree. It started out as green on green,360. I put a 400 in it that ran better than any 400 I ever saw. Then with a donor interior from a fury, some paint and cobbled-up push bars(try to tell how to make push bars from a wore-out vhs tape) I had myself a the coolest ride around!
