OK, bear with me and humor me: While doing some research on my particular '75 police car, I noticed in the 1974 and '75 Dodge police brochures that they show the cars having 'exposed' (non-hidden) headlights, with no hidden models, but the all civilian Monaco's in '75 are shown to have hidden headlights only.
Now, before I bought my car from Huey, he said he had installed a 74 front clip; according to the brochures, all he would have had to replace would have been the grille and bumper...is that correct? Am I correct in reading that the hidden option in '75 was only for civvy models, not police?
I'm just trying to verify that my particular car did not come with hidden headlights; not a big deal, but I'm just curious.

That's not quite right; the base-model '75 came with non-hidden headlights, but they're about as rare as '74 Monacos. The majority of them came with the hidden headlights, though there are a few members here who have '75s that came without hidden headlights.

From what I understand (concerning the front end only), Huey replaced only the grille and bumper. '75 Monaco = Open headlights. '75 Royal Monaco = Closed headlights. The majority of '75 Monaco police cars would have been the lower priced base models, so they would have open headlights. But the base model Monaco's were available to anyone who wanted one, civilian or police. Edit: *Sig types very fast

Thanks for the clarification, guys (and thanks to tk for the 'personal' info on my particular car)...it's good to know it originally came with non-hidden lights (not a big deal, just because I wanted to know). While on the subjects of headlights and original Blumos, fellas, I believe I now have the definitive proof that my car, is in fact, one of the original "magic 13"...check out the right headlight on the Blumo: And check out the one on mine: There you have it...nuff said. ;D Rob

I didn't see the original question specifically answered here, so to make it simple, if your VIN starts with DH or DP it would have originally had hide-away headlights, otherwise, it was just the different grill and bumper...

Hi Legendary: That's a good summary. Hopefully that information can be extracted from the spreadsheet:
