So I'm trying to piece together parts of the chase into a 3d representation according to the Blues Brothers. Still looking for the spot in the deleted Lake Shore Drive shot. But the two (maybe one) places that puzzles me most, is where the end of Lower Wacker Drive is (the mini pile-up), and where the Blues make a hard left under the E-train. I'm assuming that's still W Lake St., but I'm thinking it's coming from the other direction of where the big pile-up leads us to believe they were driving. Maybe it was a different street/train all together. When they turn under the E-train, the frame is green, but as they are chased under in other shots, it looks more yellow/bronze/or gray, plus I think the whole scene is too long to have been filmed from the assumed direction. I just don't know! Anyway, the reason I'm trying to clarify these parts up is because the old BBC movie locations in google maps don't specify these parts. Here's the alternate angle that shows the background buildings and what I think could be the Lower Wacker Drive exit. i.imgur.com/uhQ5RBG.jpg

The "mini pile-up" which I'm thinking you mean the part where the BluMo jumps the curb and the squads crash into the repair crew working on the sidewalk, is not Lower Wacker. I finally found the exact spot in the summer of 2011 and other than the colored striped mural now whitewashed over and the yellow/ white paint of the columns flaked away... it looks the exact same.
The left turn (in the photo that you show) is not Lake St. That shot is of the Bluesmobile turning left onto Wells, off of Hubbard Street.
Nearly all of the upper street chase takes place on N. Wells St. Although Wells is a pretty long street (about 4 miles, counting both N.Wells and S.Wells)*, the cars do back up once or twice and pass the same buildings, only shot at different angles (inside and outside the car).
* The cars never touch S.Wells
** The big pile-up is on Lake St. and LaSalle St. (The BluMo turns left (N) onto LaSalle)
