One of the drivers, Bob Minor, took a nasty hit to the noggin. Bob was the stunt co-ordinator on Magnum, P.I. and was one of the bank robbers in the opening sequence of The Driver. His crash made the news back then.

Oct. 16, 1997 ...
The Ontario Ministry of Labor is investigating an on-set accident that happened during the filming of Blues Brothers 2000 last month, leaving a veteran stuntman with "severe head injuries."
Veteran American stuntman Bob Minor was injured during a spectacular stunt car crash in Rexdale at about 11 a.m. on Sept. 6, the second last day of shooting on the Dan Aykroyd/John Goodman film.
Minor was rushed by helicopter to Sunnybrook Hospital and has since been transferred to a Los Angeles hospital. He's reported to have suffered a severe concussion and "a swollen brain."
Labor ministry spokesman Bob McClelland said the production is currently under investigation for contraventions of the Occupational Health And Safety Act.
"If in determining the cause of the accident we uncover violations of the act," he said yesterday, "then charges would be considered."
The maximum penalty under the act for a corporation is $500,000. The maximum penalty for any individual held responsible is $25,000 and a year in jail.
John Landis, the director of Blues Brothers 2000, was previously involved in an infamous movie set accident 15 years ago when a helicopter used in a scene in The Twilight Zone decapitated actor Vic Morrow and also killed two child actors.
Landis was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the incident and subsequently acquitted.

It turns out the provincial Labor Ministry has two separate investigations going on relating to severe injuries incurred on the set of the Dan Aykroyd/John Goodman film, Blues Brothers 2000.
The ministry continues to investigate a Sept. 6 accident in which a Hollywood stuntman sustained head trauma in West Metro. Meanwhile, it is also looking at a June 13 accident on a Blues Brothers 2000 shoot in Welland, Ont. In the latter event, a car rolled onto two crew, resulting in one having his leg amputated.
Ministry spokeswoman Belinda Sutton said the June 13 accident involved a scene in which a police car was to plunge into the bottom of a river. Unfortunately, there already was a junked car at the bottom, and the police car ended up on top of it. Producers called in a towing company to remove the old car. As it was being removed "the car apparently fell, injuring a stuntman and a set co-ordinator." The latter "had injuries that resulted in the right leg being amputated below the knee. The stuntman suffered loss of feeling in his face and back."
Universal Pictures reps were unavailable for comment yesterday.
Meanwhile, The Sun has learned at least one stuntperson was fired after refusing to take part in the Sept. 6 stunt that inflicted head injuries on stuntman Bob Minor. (Minor was rushed from the West Metro shoot to Toronto's Sunnybrook hospital. He has since been transferred to a L.A. facility).
Last week the Labor Ministry confirmed it was investigating that accident -- a car stunt gone awry, which may have contravened the Occupational Health And Safety Act. Maximum penalty under the act for any individual held responsible is $25,000 and a year in jail.
The stuntperson's firing is said to be part of a lengthy grievance being filed by ACTRA against Blues Brothers 2000. An ACTRA spokesman confirmed the grievance against Universal, but said that under their collective agreement the union isn't allowed to divulge any information about it.
