I had some pics posted on BBC at one time and Arthur had them posted in his "widest rear tire" thread. But I purchased a set of 4 Wheel Vintiques 15x8 wheels with a 4.5 BS and 265 70 15 Toyo HTs for my current 74 bluesmo.....also have a set of 15x10's, 5.5 BS for the rear with some M/T 295 65 15's for fun. There is a lot of room in the rear for some serious wheel and tire if you measure properly. I went with the Mickeys because that is the only size tire offered for the height and width that I needed. Overall Diameter too short for like a 295 50 15, etc. The Mickeys are sweet tires..but one must be very careful in the rain or on even slightly wet roads.....they suck! But you will look cool drifting in your 2 ton machine sideways with a big grin on your face!!! ;D

This is another set I had mounted on the rear of the 77 Royal...but it will be the same concept. Keep in mind if you are running an 8.25 rear, for some reason it is just a little bit wider.....I had to clearance the lip on the green 77 that I had. I no longer have any 8.25 rears to get a measurement from. Attachments:

bluzman, here: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=owners&thread=1170&post=7848you write > new wheels on front..Wheel Vintiques..15x8, 4.5 BS with TOYO 265 70 15 HTs. How does the 15x8 4.5" Backspacing work on the front, clearance wise? I'm guessing there's plenty of room wheel-to-upper-a-arm Here's what 15x8 5" backspacing looks like: 15x8 5" BS doesn't allow the steering components to stop at full lock (the rear of the tire hits the subframe instead). Here's a pic showing how 15x8 5" BS doesn't obtain full steering lock (pic taken when tire hits subframe): pics from: www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/8332-widest-wheels-tires/#entry110780Does 15x8 4.5" BS allow for full lock? What about the outside edge of the tire hitting the fender? At full jounce? At full jounce at full lock? your friend in working on rubber not meeting metal, arthur
