Wow that car looks really great . Are Fury´s more easy to get than monacos? About the same, really. It's hard to find a nice example of either and most people just want to build the best replica that they can because they have a legitimate passion for the hobby. It's those that slap together something that looks SIMILAR when they have the resources to do it right that disgrace the hobby.

I think half the fun in owning a Bluesmobile would be to make it your own when you get a plain Monaco. If I got a Bluesmobile, I'd start over from square 1 just to say, "I built that!"

^ Well ... it is what it is ... in Juliet, Illinois I would have completed the speaker before the mounting process. It does look cool sitting up there like that, though. Now someone has to drive by and get a vid of it lit up at night.

In all fairness, this wasn't a build thread when I started posting in it. It sort-of retroactively morphed into one and the first response wasn't one that showed off the car, but, instead was a form of self-boastful advertisement by the proprietor of the shop that repainted and stripped the car; though, that borders on the semantics of "build," as it were.

The car looks great, Bob. With the weathering, details, and paint tricks; and up on the platform, it's hard to tell that it's not a Monaco - and it's a great use of an otherwise unwanted Fury. I was wondering how they would attach it to the platform, looks like a solid mounting system. I'm sure that the Food n Fuel business is very happy with it. Question: Did you set up the working lights? Is it on 120V bulbs or is a 12v transformer used with stock lighting?

I believe they are simple LED's, they look great! I know as a fan myself, I would freak out if I saw this while going down the road. There was a steady stream of people stopping to take photos. I know it will become a destination attraction for fans on Route 66. Thanks again!

It does look cool...but, I wonder if they are going to get hammered for obviously using the movie quote (unless it's not copyrighted, or they secured permission)...
