Well I found a 74.5 bumper that Arthur was looking for. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness! A pick of the elusive prototype bumper! I thought the jumpcar had the only one. So it has jack slots like a 74 (and not 75) It has a lower grille like a 74 (and not 75) But it has the rounded edge like a 75 (and not the "hump" on the far left and far right like a 74) And it has two chrome dots on each side of the bumper like a 75 (on the passenger side, look above the B and the X on the license plate). 75's have 2, 74's just have one. Here's my cheat sheet again that shows 75 bumpers more clearly: THE PROTOTYPE BUMPER! Where did you find it 177? I can understand not wanting to overcome the hassle of getting a photobucket account. Please simply keep hitting reply and attaching one pic per reply. You found the evidence! Now I just need the HD pic of the jump-car to confirm prototypeness, and I can hit Steam up for a beer. your friend in surprises, arthur

Well that's interesting. Please post more pics, Mr. Mer. Like Arthur said just make a post, attach a pic and repeat. Make as many posts as you have pics.
Where did you get the bumper?

I finally made a photobucket account but still cant figure out how to post multiple pics , so here my ill atemps to post . I was just messing around with Arthur about his 74.5 theory and was finished making these inserts today . Started out with some old ford bumperettes and a piece of flat-stock steel , with a cost of about 5 bucks .

Cut these up until they fitted in the bumper/grill opening .

Then welded them to the flat stock and attached this to the bolt that holds the inner bumper together . So this can come off at any time not hurting my bumper or plastic grill .

So I added some paint and bolted them in . Heres the before ...

And after . Thought this was a closest way to get to a 74 style bumper as my 75 is in excellent condition , plus it might fool a few out there , but definitely not here . And those bumper jack slots Arthur , are just strips of black tape . Did it just for you ( lol ) . So this was my comedy attempt at a prototype bumper .

Hahaa, Mer you dirty dog you. lol. I spent close to an hour looking at bumper pics online thinking ... somethin' ain't right here. I was going to write it off to crazy ol' Ma Mopar and her never ending shenanigans. Oh man ... sheet. I think you saved me a beer ... for now. We never know what Arthur's research will turn up next.

I'm getting a feeling that Arthur is not amused. ? Oh no, I thought it was great fun, and even posted to that effect, but don't see my post here! I checked my 'profile' looking for recent posts, and it doesn't show it. Maybe I have 'ghost' posting syndrome where I keep hitting 'preview' and then just forget to finally post. But the gist of my post was that I thought it a great conversion, and like all great conspiracy theories, I think that 177ellwood really did find a 1974.5 prototype bumper, but after he posted it, Steam got to him first and convinced him to make up that conversion story. The 1974.5 prototype bumper is still out there, waiting to be found... your friend in watching out for 'ghost posting', arthur

I checked my 'profile' looking for recent posts, and it doesn't show it. Maybe I have 'ghost' posting syndrome where I keep hitting 'preview' and then just forget to finally post. Haha I've done the same thing. I was looking at my post one time and scrolled up and down wondering, "Where did the other posts go?" Heh, then I clicked 'Post Reply' and they magically appeared. ... but after he posted it, Steam got to him first and convinced him to make up that conversion story. Mr. Mer and I do regularly discuss Marilyn Monroe, JFK, grassy knolls, moon landings and UFO's, but counsel has advised me not to mention anything about bumpers. All I can say is you MAY be on to something. ;D

It's not BS, Ive seen this bumper somewhere recently. See it w/ my own eyes I did, came outta know where like a bolt of lightning, then as it passed I seen what must have been the only 74.3/4 monaco bumper ever made. I suspect it was a prototype that was installed accidently on a car when they ran outta bumpers that day.
