I talk about Jim Post's eyehook blumo.
If the summary there is correct, I think the only loose end is Jim's statement:
> As far as the real Bluesmobiles they were all shipped to California after
> filming and crushed. I know Aykroyd did keep one and the letter I had
> confirmed that.
Before getting the letter from Jim, El-Wood reported that:
> Jim Post told me (when I visited his museum in AR) he sold his
> Bluesmobile to Dan.
www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/3491-where-are-they-now/#entry41211
But maybe Jim or El-Wood got the story mixed up a bit, and Jim wasn't trying to say that Jim sold his eyehook blumo to Dan, but that Dan had his own blumo.
Either way, we have this tidbit about Shotgun asking Elwood on his radio show and seemingly getting an answer that Dan doesn't have one:
From Shotgun Blues 2007:
> I asked Elwood through his forum on the House of Blues Radio Hour. He
> said that if anyone ever asked him if he had one of the original
> Bluesmobiles, he'd deny it. Now, I have no idea if Danny answered this
> email or if it was somebody else, but it sure was a cryptic answer.
www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/4163-where-are-the-real-bluesmobiles/#entry48783
and Scott added:
> E-mails to Elwood on the HOB Radio hour web site are answered by a
> guy named Brian who works for Ben Manilla Productions. When Brian
> doesn't already know the answer, he asks Ben. Ben and Dan are good
> friends. In some rare situations, they may ask Dan, but only if they
> don't know the answer and think it's worth asking Dan about. Brian's
> answer is a little cryptic, but I think he means to say that Dan doesn't
> own one of the originals, at least not anymore.

But Jim was quite clear:
> I know Aykroyd did keep one and the letter I had confirmed that.
Has anyone asked Jim about the letter confirming that?
I read:
From TK826
> The "Aykroyd kept a Bluesmobile" was actually dis-proven, right here on
> the [old BBC] site .
www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/8274-the-original-bluesmobile-found-sort-of/#entry114727
Was it disproven based on the radio hour response? Or someone asking Jim Post about the letter?
