Thanks, Art. Let me re-phrase my quote: "Did the Boys ever use the a/c in their car, or did they always have the windows down? Rob By "use", if you mean "did anybody ever fiddle with the A/C controls", I believe the answer is no. I don't think we ever get a clear shot to see IF the blumo had A/C controls. We can clearly see the rear-defogger bezel, such as shown in this thread: www.bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=screen&action=display&thread=565But I think that's as close as we get to seeing the A/C control area.

For the A/C issue, google "r12 replacement" and get confused about all the choices you have.

Took these a week or so ago, before the monsoon season began down here....it's coming along.... I haven't had a chance to check the oil pan/drag link clearance as of yet, but I think I'm going to wait until I drop it in the car to see if there's an issue...if so, I'll hoist it up and replace the pan with a 900-series version; since there's currently no oil in the engine, it should be relatively easy to do. Bracketry? Ah, well, that's another story....it's gonna be fun finding a reasonably-priced set of A/C car bracketry on the interweb; so far, evilBay has had a few pieces and parts, and a few so-called 'full sets', mostly in the triple-digit price ranges. Moving on to the 727....here's what I bought from Huey, that came with the car: Based on these numbers: ...it appears to be a '74-75 trans, so it's going to work okay in the Blumo. I'm going to refresh all of the seals, add a new filter kit, new NSS, and clean it an paint it. I also have a B&M 10255 shift improver kit for it (street/strip), but am debating the use of it....I've never had one in a 727 before, so I'm not sure of the benefits. I'm also debating the use of an external trans cooler; I like the idea of keeping the stock trans cooling system, and if it's adequate, I'll probably just stay with that. Rob

Nice. Those exhaust manifolds especially look great. I think it will fit! Here's a pic of the original 933 pan in Marin County: and the drag link is about in line with the 3rd oil pan bolt. Here's your 187 pan: So it would seem to be really close. But my 74 MHP Fury (with swapped motor), had a 699 pan installed, and this page www.440source.com/oilpans.htmhas: > Shown above is our original factory USED "699" oil pan... > This part is physically identical to the 187 pan, and versions can > be found with or without an internal welded oil baffle. The Fury wasn't drivable when I got it, but there weren't any obvious clearance problems with the drag-link. If a 699 pan fits, then a 187 pan will fit, so here's to good luck with oil pan fitment!

Bracketry? Ah, well, that's another story....it's gonna be fun finding a reasonably-priced set of A/C car bracketry on the interweb; so far, evilBay has had a few pieces and parts, and a few so-called 'full sets', mostly in the triple-digit price ranges. Hi Ghost: I put my bracket stuff together, and if you pay shipping, I'm happy to offer you all/any of this: in exchange for your passenger 1975 exterior spotlight mount and exterior chrome a-pillar trim: I figure you may not be using it on your blumo, and the factory hole in the exterior chrome piece would match up with the bracket that I could put in the Monaco Museum Of Amazement. And I could send you an uncut exterior passenger chrome piece (from my 76 parts car) to replace that you sent me. If you're interested in a trade, let me know. Even if you don't want to trade, I'm happy to take measurements on whatever I have to help you best locate the bracketry you need.

HECK YEAH, Art....I'm up for it! ;D The spotlight mount and trim are yours, good buddy....I'll take extra care in getting it off. For the best combo for what I need, I'm thinking the '76 400 stuff would work better on my '75, since it has extra grooves on the crank pulley, as well as the bracket on the p/s pump (which I don't have, either). I'm using the photo blusmbl posted as a guide for what I need: Here's the pump I have, but it's off the 360 Huey threw in with the car: It doesn't look to have the B-RB mounting capabilities. The A/C compressor you offer is tempting, but I have one (again, off the 360): I'm afraid the cost of shipping your beast would be prohibitive; I'm going to do a little research to see if mine has the correct bracketry/hole alignment...since I don't have the alt brackets and p/s pump for a test-fit, I don't know if mine will work or not (plus, I'll have to find an idler pulley and bracket). If my bracket won't work, I'll have to see about procuring just the bracket alone.. If you'll do me the honor of calculating the weight and shipping costs of that '76 400 stuff (pulleys/brackets and P/S pump) and inform me via email, I'll go ahead and remove the spotlight bracket and trim for you. Rob

Thanks, Zac....yeah, this rain is slowing me down, but I jump on the car every dry day I can get! Gonna try to finish removing the radiator support and stripping the inner fender wells tomorrow, if the rain holds off....it's supposed to be a helluva rainy experience all next week, so I've got to get humping. Treat it like a scale model and weather it.

BTW, my youngest son went to the Carmike in Fleming Island to see a flick about a month ago, and said he passed a nice Blumo on CR-220 on the way there...I told him it was probably you, bro! Rob

Got some more work done on the car before the rains set in again (I'll post updates later in the week), but took a break to go hang out with our ol' buddy Zac at the local car show Saturday afternoon... His "new" 'Mobile is looking finer than frog hair, and the folks at the show were all over it. Also, I stoked because I worked a deal with Zac to relieve him of his extra passenger fender and wheel house/inner fender...that's one fender I won't have to perform any bodywork magic on! Rob
