Hey guys I have a question, I have a 1977 dodge royal Monaco that I'm going to be turning into a bluesmobile. I noticed that my directional was totally worn out. The parts that I needed were a idler arm pitman arm and center link. I found a place that had a 75 new Yorker that was being parted out, so I bought all 3 pieces for 100$. Now I have not put them on the car yet and I was wondering would these parts even fit a 77 or did I just waste my time getting them?

Hi DRM: I think they'll fit. It looks like 74-77 c-body Plymouth Fury, Dodge Monaco, Chrysler New Yorker, Chrysler Imperial all share identical front-end steering components. This page bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=brochure&action=display&thread=835shows the VIN code mapping: D = dodge monaco C = chrysler new yorker Looking at the 1975 parts catalog, the steering picture lists "P,D,C,Y" which is a pretty good hint that D and C share the same parts. Looking at the actual part numbers, for each part, you can see that the D and C columns always point to the same row/part number. your friend in swapping car parts, arthur

Thanks Arthur. Now I can feel much better when I need to look for any other part for my car. I knew I was at the right place for these cars.

Thanks Arthur. Now I can feel much better when I need to look for any other part for my car. From looking through the parts catalog it looks like most of them swap. It says "p,d,c,y" all over the place. The "instrument panel carrier" (that holds the speedo and gauges) is different, but it's obvious when looking at it. There are sometimes some sneaky differences between models, like the Fury doesn't have the passenger side ashtray in the front metal dash. bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=details&thread=466&post=2734But for "low-level" c-body parts like suspension and frame, I would expect most/all things to swap. your friend in swapination, arthur
