got a Holley 4166 carb. Gonna swap it out with the Thermoquad see it there is any difference. Also I am gonna swap the distributor. I think it is part of my problems. Intake is from a 383 I was told. Or maybe a 400...I may swap to an aluminum intake later on.

Scatpack, I was going to ask if you were swapping intakes, as a 400 low-deck intake won't fit on a 440 raised-deck block. If you need a 440 intake, I have my original steel one from Marin County, but then I think I figured out that you have your original 440 intake, and you're using it for now, and may later swap to an aluminum intake, and the intake in your pics was just part of the carb deal.

Well looks like my distributor was bad. Swapped it out and it's running good. I need to set the timing but the balancer and timing mark are crudded up. I set it by smoothness. Drove it a little and it stayed running.
Next time home I hope to get it back on the road.

I set 'em with a vacuum gauge. Connect to manifold vacuum, advance until you see the most vacuum, then retard 1-1.5 inches of mercury. On some engines, the rubber isolated damper ring slips, so you can not use the timing marks.

Hey all.... The Monaco is on the road. It runs good. Swapped the dist and fixed my problem. Now I need to find a tranny. Or rebuild mine. Also my pass door problem was the door was locked. I found the rod disconnected. I am hoping to work on it over the winter.
