...can't do flat black with a mohair roller like I did to my '79 Dodge van. ehehe, that's awesome. Do you have any pics? I've never seen a mohair roller painted vehicle before.

This is from 2011 spring, when I fixed the brakes + lots of welding to get it registered again(I painted it in 2006 and it stood still for 5 years). Edt. the paint was half glossy(insert correct term) metal roof paint.

I used sand paper + this kind of machine and went through "difficult" places with flat black spray paint or a small brush before the rolling part. Now I'm back on that roller idea, can be done outside and don't have to take too much stuff off and taping is easier. And the wife was disappointed when I told her "no mohair to this car"

It's nice to see a Monaco that isn't green!

^It's going to black or white(some day). Oh yeah! A blumo build thread! But first, it will be good just to see some pics of you cruising around in it. After all that time being locked up in a create it needs to stretch its legs. your friend in "blowing out the cobwebs", and seeing what it will do on the highway, arthur

So friday is the day. The importer's terminal is 100km away and I've got to drive the Monaco back home from there. I got a new battery, 2 Jeep Comanche wheels, a jack, a tire bottle, engine oil leftover can + some gas & small set of tools. And the most important thing is my insurance which covers towing to nearest auto shop.

heh ehe he, that sounds like a pretty good list of things to take. Maybe an electrical crimp set and some wire. And some sunglasses. Looking forward to seeing it cruising down the highway!

And I need to take water. Living in the land of thousand lakes means that you still can't find any liquid when your car's overheating. Just fixed my sunglasses with glue(medium stuff).

^I had a nice nightmare where my van was blue and brake pedal was so stiff that even pushing it with both legs didn't help.

At home The black panel(with glove box etc) under the dash was found from back seat. Tried to take a picture of my screen accurate wipers. After changing rear tires, adding some fluid to power steering and installing the battery and new terminals everything went quite well. Except the driver side mirror is missing internal parts(it also doesn't hold still) & the alternator doesn't work. I'll have to remove the vinyl top, at least one rust hole there. I found another hole from trunk. Better pictures will follow when I find my camera and the moderator could move this toipic to owner's forum.

Better pictures will follow when I find my camera and the moderator could move this topic to owner's forum. Hi SD: I moved it to the owner's forum, and changed the heading to "SD's Monaco". If you'd like the title changed and don't have access to change the thread title (by modifying the first post in the thread), just let me know and I'll change it to what you like. Those are some good starter pics. > ...the alternator doesn't work I guess it's a whole different game owning such a car overseas. You likely can't just walk down to the auto parts store and get a replacement. It's taking Monaco ownership to another level!

I finally have my own project! I have been dreaming of owning a 74 Monaco off and on for as long as I can remember. The Blues Brothers was the first movie I ever saw on VHS tape, I was 5 and it was 1981. That's my story too. Except the year was 1984 and I'm not sure if did I saw Life of Brian first.
