... + a new mini fuel tank w/hose. I have an alcohol approved boat tank in mind. Is this related to changing the coolant in the radiator? Or is this something completely different, using a mini fuel tank to provide gas to the motor instead of the stock fuel tank? Is this to avoid the fuel problems you were having? Fuel problems related. I want to make sure that I can drive that 110km without maintenance stops- weather is awful with all the wind and rain and stuff. + with an alchohol tank I can test e85 someday without having to worry about all that crap alcohol releases from the old stock tank.

Now I'm sure that the problems are in the carb. Got a new 6 gal tank in the trunk with new hose coming through the back seat and firewall(only one non-stock hole drilled) and still some sneezing. No pictures yet, haven't got a flash in my phone. Or then it's the distributor. Or another vacuum leak somewhere. But these problems go away when we get the engine done in the next 10 years or so. The car still goes nice on steady throttle so I don't worry. Trying to get it to winter storage in couple of weeks, this morning was first below zero. Monaco has antifreeze liquids now, still brown ones. Also fucked up royally this week: I installed the new fuel stuff and decided to test it by driving 2,5km to the pet store(cat sand needed a change, pet store has better stuff). Got to the store without problems, parked and realized that I have serious smoke coming under the hood. After thinking about 1,5 seconds I remembered that I drained the radiator last weekend and the hose was still open down there. Then I walked in the store, came back, put the hose back in with adding liquid to the radiator trying to act cool and like it was something I planned to do. Then I thanked myself for driving the shortest route to the store and went home without the extra steam.

Right. This is the Monaco moving week for me too, going to drive to the storage tomorrow. It's 75km to the other barn, I've got a half pack of cigarettes, it's not dark(I can't use headlights, because h4's need a relay, otherwise they could melt the light switch) and I'm not wearing sunglasses- lost them somewhere.
Today I checked the fluids + brakes, which surprisingly worked at -5 celsius and let the engine heat up a bit. Everything seemed to work, only a bad smell like something's melting, but I've used to that. Also got the official license plates today which took only two visits to the local "dmv", as an idiot I forgot one important paper home which I thought wasn't needed because they see the data from the computer. Apparently they needed the paper.
Anyway I've known that this driving thing will happen on saturday, thanks to that I've had nightmares almost every night this week about car troubles, mostly overheating but also other mechanic stuff. On one dream the Monaco died in the city and I went to some strange apartment which had lots of my old friends as teens, including my ex-best friend who also was my "best man". I told him that you shouldn't kill yourself and hugged him(actually that guy died last fall waiting for the train in the middle of the tracks, just a plain suicide). That hugging part was strange, because that's something I just can't do with anyone not in my family, I need that certain space between me and other people. Overheating is explained easily, I watched Roadkill episodes at work last week.
I just love driving these piece of shit project cars, no stress whatsoever!

The trip went fine. I'm kind of amazed how steady the car goes at 80mph, much smoother than 50(which was the limit). Mostly I drove nice and with legal speed. I broke the hood system or the wire just surrendered. Luckily the hood opened using a fist on the right place so I could get the battery out. If someone knows how long that cable is please tell me. Here's few pictures, the car looks the same but the background is new: At the store, new license plate duct taped to window: The yard, this looks like something from craigslist: NICE BB CAR RUNS GOOD NEDS SUM TLC CALL 445 865 695 NO EMAILS SCAMSERS AR GAY The storage: The camouflage: Also had another dream last night: I was at a bar with just t-shirt an underwear on me and on the parking lot half from the Monaco's front fender just disappeared in the air (like nazis at the end of Raiders of the lost ark) when I knocked it with a finger.

Glad to hear you made it safely. It looks like a version of Elwood's garage in the 'L' train generator room, do you have any large generators in there to give the car it's magical powers while it's parked? ;D

^No generators, just old crap & few honda parts, but I wouldn't mind magical powers. I was hoping that the Monaco has been fixed completely next spring by this guy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapio_%28spirit%29 (there's a forest behind that "building") or the Santa's elves, they're unemployed after crassmas anyway.

Man, I'm gone for a few days and not only do I miss out on being the first to say it, I miss out on being the first to say that I was thinking the same thing. But I'll agree - that's a very L-train blumo style garage.

I heard today that the Monaco is still safe at the barn. Which is nice.
Now few ideas very shortly before I forget them: -engine bay, fenders from inside floor & trunk colored white after sandpaper/grinder -chassis + everything under there primer gray -get a better fuel tank that "stands up", maybe two(both sides) -happy colored vacuum hoses -maybe heater hoses too -find roller friendy elastic paint for vinyl, rv top paint? -hydr. pushbar, legal? -get colored electric wires and fuse box -electronic fuel pump -fuel lines copper(10mm?)
I cryptic.

All this radio talk me think about it again. Since I'm not building a blumo(at least yet) and like the stock radio's appearence, I have no need for an 8-track or have to fill the radio's holes in the panel. But all I got is AM and the only channel that can be found is a russian talk radio, so I need FM there in case I want to listen to radio. It's either a fm-converter which is installed to the antenna wire or replacement radio to the stock radio's place. I hate almost every radio channel there is so one speaker is enough for that stuff and the louder roknroll machine will be under the seat so I can control the music from the portable mp3 player or portable cd player in my hand(and the 3,5mm wire comes from the player). I know it's probably not the hi-fi solution to put the speakers like that, but I don't care. Also thought about killing stereo by installing L & R wires to all four speakers. Attachments:

Hi SD: Let me see if I follow. 1) You want FM. 2) You want stock looking radio in dash. 3) You want MP3 support. 4) You want loud music. If you wanted just #1 and #2, you could put a stock Monaco FM radio in the dash. The stock FM radio would want 2 speakers, and you could either keep your one-hole IPUC and use a dual-voice coil center speaker bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=owners&thread=45&post=2785or get a two-hole IPUC and use 2 speakers in the dash. If you wanted just #3, you could add an input to the stock Monaco FM radio, but #4 sounds like the key. You want an actual nice loud clear radio (like secret audio), and if you have that, it's going to have FM. Rather than have (1) mono speaker in the dash, and (2) speakers under the seat, why not install (1) dual-voice coil speaker in the dash, and run both the stock AM radio to that, and run the nice FM radio under the seat to it. You won't run the AM radio and the FM radio at the same time, so it would seem to be fine for them to "take turns" using the front speaker. And a dual-voice coil from the center hole IPUC would sound better than two speakers under the seat (I'd think). And if you didn't care about having a blumo or one-hole IPUC screen accuracy, you could switch to a two-hole IPUC and have true stereo speakers in the dash. If you're going to do that, you might as well just put a stock Monaco FM radio in the dash and then you could use the two front speakers with either radio. I might be able to hook you up with some of those parts if you wanted to go that route. your friend in throwing out ideas, arthur

That dual voice coil speaker isn’t a bad idea. I don't need "real" stereo there. Stock Monaco FM is good too, but I don’t have one-or find reasonably priced from Finland. Adding an input to stock FM radio sounds good too and I could hide an amplifier there if I wanted the volume to 11. ´ I thought I’d hide the stereo under the seat without antenna = no radio. Other thing I had in mind that the wiring would be lot easier to do if I had wires going under the seat & few to the rear deck lid + keep the old ones on the dash. I have lots of time to think about this setup, because it will take a lot of time before I can listen to music while driving.
