I was out today; looking for parts for my El Camino project and I stumbled onto this: I recorded the VIN from it and here it is: DK41P5D194273 Which means its a genuine ex cop car. It's been fairly picked over, but I'm buying all that's left of it for the interior. Here are a few shots of some of the interesting parts: Tan steering wheel: Short chrome window trim: Police door panel WITHOUT mirror adjuster: Ticket light area: Rear window defroster setup: Spotlight hole: Cop rubber flooring: Build tag: Engine Compartment: Inner fender/support: Radiator support: And here's what made me sad to see: It's also interesting to note that this car has no holes above the grille for the DODGE letters. I'd save this car and try to restore it, but it's too far gone. There is literally no lower portion to this car. The frame is swiss-cheese at best and the sheet metal stops at where the side marker lights were/meet the ground.

Man, that thing is ate up! But a great find!
It looks like the top line reads H41 N41. N41 is dual exhaust. That seems strange that N41 is listed, as all K code cop cars had dual, as well as A38 cars, and even my non K non a-38 cop Fury had dual exhaust without an N41.
And the driver door mirror without remote is wild, as well as no-holes in the header panel for the D O D G E lettering. If you're ever out there again, I'd be interested in seeing where the hole for the spotlight shaft comes through the driver a-pillar on the inside. This is a 75, like Ghostbluesman's cop Monaco, and has a factory exterior mount spotlight setup, with the F43 spotlight reinforcement tab, and I'm curious to see if the spotlight shaft hole is centered through the F43 tab (part of my long-running research on spotlight setups for 74-77 c-body Monacos).
your friend in cool monaco finds, arthur

Awesome find LV!!! To bad shes so far gone though! Hope you can save all thats possible! Are you buying the whole car and bringing it home? Please post pics if so! The car is incapable of being removed from its location ever again. The rubber flooring is resting on the ground and what little remains of the driveshaft hump, as there is no floor and nothing that even resembles a frame on that car. Everyone who's seen this car shares the fear that the car will not survive being moved. As a result, I'm having everything that's worth taking from it removed and then it'll probably sit there until it rusts away entirely. Considering that the only way to get in is to climb through the window and when I tried to pull the door open, the upper frame started to detach, I'd scarcely say that there's any good sheet metal, save for the roof, left on this car.

How do the fenders and front clip look? Is the rubber flooring any good? Any chance there;s a 14o speedo in it? If so, would you be interested in selling any of it?

Tan steering wheel: Short chrome window trim: These cars exhibit some of the strangest and most invasive rust I have ever seen. Whole chunks of the panels are missing right out of the center of the panel. That fender on the brown car

There are NO USABLE BODY PANELS on this car whatsoever. They would crumble in your hands if you pull at them too hard; that's how I opened the trunk. The speedometer is long gone and someone hacked at the dash with reckless abandon to get it. It would have been the all-large 140 unit instead of the 14o unit, anyway. I can't speak for the front clip, but that may go on my '74 if it's OK. I can't pass judgement on the flooring yet, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's been sun-baked and frozen for many years. Overall, I got to this car 20 years too late. It's sat outside neglected since and it shows EVERYWHERE!. To anyone who wants parts from this car: I'm sorry, but it's not happening. There aren't even enough good interior pieces for my use... I'm saving parts from this car for the sake of getting them on the road and making as much of it into a Bluesmobile as possible.

That's too bad. I need a right front door latch. Sorry; EVERY door handle in this car is broken from being forced and pried. The only way this car could be restored is if the VIN were to be placed on another car. If you were to try to restore it, it would take an entire Monaco's worth of good parts; thus, defeating the purpose.

I'll take a look; for now, you can see the exit hole for the spotlight in the picture with the door panel; barely, but it's there. Hi LV: The door panel pic shows the hole in the a-pillar interior trim piece: and I'm looking to have that removed to see how the actual a-pillar looks. Here's my Fury passenger side F43 spotlight reinforcement bracket. So visualize this flipped 180 degrees (to show a driver-side pillar), and then visualize a spotlight hole through the F43 bracket. From what I can gather: 1974 factory spotlight cars had the spotlight hole right through the center of the F43 bracket (through the hole in it). 1974 cars with factory F43 brackets, but user installed spotlights (ex: CHP) had the spotlight hole NOT through the center of the F43 bracket (because they used the exterior unity mount and it didn't line up the same way the factory interior mount did). 1975 factory spotlight cars used an exterior spotlight mount, but not the same as the CHP-used unity mount. This installation used factory-stamped exterior a-pillar chrome piece (instead of a drilled unity mount). I'm interested in seeing how the hole lined up on the inside. And it would be interesting to see if the passenger side a-pillar had the reinforcement (unused) like 74s. For cool parts, I see the following: - shortie window trim - cop ticketlight bracket (behind fabric headliner) that holds the switch (and actual light that is missing) - upper door panels The market for the following would be small, but I'd be interested in: - driver side a-pillar outside chrome piece (that has factory stamped hole for spotlight) - driver side a-pillar interior piece (that has factory drilled hole for spotlight shaft). Heck, if you take a sawzall, just remove those trim pieces, and then also cut out the entire driver-side a-pillar from dash to ceiling. Then I can use it in the Monaco Museum of Amazement, along with my 74 Fury factory installed spotlight a-pillar. thanks, arthur

Arthur, The two pieces you have an interest in are two parts that will be going on my Monaco project. I can get you the picture of the pillar without the pieces, but I'll be using what I remove from it.

Arthur, The two pieces you have an interest in are two parts that will be going on my Monaco project. I can get you the picture of the pillar without the pieces, but I'll be using what I remove from it. If your desire is for nice pieces that you can use on your blumo and have it look like a blumo, I don't think you'd want to use the pieces on this cop car. If you use the pieces from this cop car on your blumo, I think you'll have a lot extra holes in your blumo. Meaning, if you plan on using that interior a-pillar trim piece on your blumo, and you plan on drilling a hole through the exterior chrome piece, through the a-pillar, through the interior trim piece, the hole you drill through the interior piece won't line up with the hole that's already there. This is because the factory hole is in a different spot than the unity 216 exterior mount (and the reason why I'd like to save them for the museum). And the holes in the stamped exterior chrome piece are for a factory exterior bracket, not a unity 216, so it seems that you'd have no use for this stamped chrome piece (other than just wanting a chrome piece). So if you're in the market for a-pillar pieces, I can set you up with those from my 76 parts car, and I think you'd like those more. The interior piece is tan, and the exterior piece is nice and like-new. Now, if you're into reusing these cop pieces because they were on a cop car, and you plan on finding a 1975 factory exterior spotlight mount, then the pieces you found are rocking; it just would seem a shame to use them for use with a unity 216 exterior bracket which would yield a funny looking trim piece on your blumo and destroy a nice example of a factory exterior mount trim piece. It's just a thought; I don't really have a need for it, other than it's cool. thanks, arthur

My intent was to use as much as possible from this car because I felt sorry for it and wanted to save whatever I could from such an unfortunate fate. Unfortunately, the doors are stuck shut due to rot and broken door handles and they CANNOT be opened. As a result, no chrome front pieces can be removed due to the screws being blocked and the door strips can't be removed. It was a very disappointing realization to say the least; compounded by the fact that the pillar trim and rear panels were so brittle that they completely fell apart; despite being handled with kid gloves. Couple that with intermittent downpours and I got out of there as soon as I could. Here's a shot of every single part that could be saved from the car: And, per your interest, here's the door pillars after the panels broke off: Driver's Side: Passenger's Side: And here's a fun piece that I took home to make into a wall hanging: The tail lights may go on my car; for the sake of being re-used, and I may have a spare set as a result. Though, the yard does have 2 1974 Plymouth Furys and a Royal Monaco that I'll grab whatever I can for those who are interested, if you don't mind a wait until its convenient for me to go back since gas is too expensive lately.

scat, If you look at the first photo you can see that a quarter of the grille is missing, on the passenger side.
