Blu,
How difficult was it to install the flooring? I've read that it has trouble conforming to the proper shape.

Put these wires to a toggle switch and get a free anti theft system.

I also heard about the ACC mats. Also, I just e-mailed ACC asking about pricing for a vinyl carpet, and they said they don't make one. Do you have a part number I can reference? And, if you don't mind me asking, how much was the flooring?

TK, installing the flooring wasn't to bad. It's true it doesn't fit every contour exactly but it's not far off. If you lay it out in the sun it becomes workable. I started with the rear piece, and both of them are cut big with plenty to trim, so you have to take your time and sneak up on it a little at a time, trimming and checking and kneeling on it to keep it in the floor pan corners. I think a heat gun would help, I didn't have one at the time. The transmission tunnel area has a little extra room, so I built it up some with padding that they used as shipping packing. Once the floor was in it seems to fit just fine. When water gets in from washing or a heavy rain I can just soak it up with a sponge or towel and it's good to go. Legendary, I originally emailed ACC and got the same answer-we don't have that. I called them at 1-800-633-2358 and spoke to a lady (Miranda Goble) that said, sure we can make that, no problem, we can make any carpet set in vinyl... and if I ordered it they would give me a 20% discount! The item # on my bill is 1093-74 1974 Dodge Monaco 4 Door Carpet, Custom Item, Vinyl #16 Black. Retail 320.68 My cost 256.54. Freight 28.84 Total invoice 285.38 SD. Wiring a toggle switch is a brilliant idea, I never thought of that, a simple solution and no one would look for a switch under the seat, unless they read this thread! I'm doomed!! ;D

Since the front upper dash has three speaker holes and there is a speaker that can fit the middle hole but be a stereo lh/rh as well, I wanted to put in 3 speakers and essentially have 4 front speakers in 3 holes, because there's blues in there and it gots to come out! That also meant making the worlds first 3 hole IPUC! I started with a 2 hole speaker IPUC from a Gran Fury and flipped my original speaker grill on top and lined up the defrost grills and clamped them together and started drilling it with a #40 carbide drill bit. This little project took longer than I thought as drilling through the small holes as a pattern went on for awhile. Trivia question...How many holes are in the center speaker grill?.....1701 !! it's 63 holes long in a row by 27 holes wide. So it was drill about a hundred and put it up for later, pull it back out and drill some more. After it was done and painted to match the dash I glued some black vinyl porch screen underneath to block out possible dash trash from going down the defrost ducts and getting in the speakers. But now I can say its a screen used car, because I used screen on it! ;D BAHAHAHA!! O. K. just kidding... Since there will be two radio 8 tracks in the car, the factory one converted to play MP3's and a Craig cut into the dash I needed to split the antenna signal between the two of them. Since they have been in they both work fine but I have never had them both on at the same time because that would be like googleing google, it could interrupt the space time continuum and cause the world to rotate off it's axis! Six speakers wired in, 4 up front 2 in back and all the speaker grounds. The first four connections are LF,RF,LR,RR and then 4 grounds that are linked together and grounded to the chassis.

That's awesome. The 1701 = 63 x 27 reminded me a bit of the Voyager interstellar record. The 1974 Aricebo message had 551 bits of info: > As a clue to decoding the message, it consists of 551 bits of information. > The only factors of 551 are the prime numbers 19 and 29, which are the > lengths of the sides of the message. www.astrosociety.org/pubs/mercury/9902/vakoch.htmlBut the voyager record architecture didn't feel the need for prime number side lengths. > This converts to 512 in decimal and indicates that the image consists of > 512 [vertical] lines... www.cedmagic.com/featured/voyager/voyager-record.htmlI always suspected that the Monaco IPUC center grille hole pattern, just like the voyager record, was more advanced and used a non-prime side lengths. But I never knew for sure. If I count correctly, the outer grille patterns are in an intermediate stage between old school (prime x prime) and new school (composite x composite), with their bizarre 31 x 34 mapping. This shows that the center IPUC is the most advanced form of blumo replication, and I commend your efforts in adding it. your friend in IPUC trivia, arthur

This is impressive work, and it is giving me great ideas. I love the work on the dash for the extra speakers, I may have to use that idea......if I ever get that far.

Hi Blusmbl: Did you consider cutting the center grille area from the Gran Fury IPUC and patching into the Monaco IPUC? That would take a lot of time, but I'm guessing not more than drilling all the holes, and you did such a great job on welding the trunk this would seem up your alley. your friend in welding wondering, arthur

Looking good! I recommend a TK826 "Sam and Dave" replica 8-track.
This pic isn't very good, but you get the idea:

I have one of his awesome Sam and Dave 8 tracks. I would highly recommend the 8 track, the Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker and you can't have an authentic look without the exterior lettering stencil kit! Now just waiting for an Orange Whip! ;D
