I've been working on my project, albeit slower than I anticipated, but things are still progressing. I'm waiting on the assistance of a friend to get the 440 from my '77 New Yorker out of it and into the Monaco, but I've accumulated all the necessary parts to complete an accurate car.

I've been working on my project, albeit slower than I anticipated... I hear you, LV! I thought I'd whip out my bluesmobile in just a few months. But although it always seems to take longer than it should; it is a fun ride. Welcome to the board. I'll be posting some pics of our visit in Hell soon. That's one sweet civilian cruising 74 Monaco you have; I can't wait to see the build progress on your bluesmobile Monaco.

Well, it's not much of an update to look at, but I found a guy who's willing to fabricate my push bars, attach them to the car, and paint my car up to look like a proper Bluesmobile should. A big kudos to TK for the rubber for the push bar, as this was the final piece I wanted to acquire before I started this portion.
My 440 is being worked on and I heard the motor run today for the first time in months. She sounds great. The new carb is a nice touch and the Lean Burn system is being jettisoned. The 360 she's replacing is a bit rough, but that doesn't matter.
By the end of winter, she should be good to go.

It's not much of a change, but here's the car wearing the correct 15x6.5 wheels. The tires on it are the only set I had in the correct side and have the white letters out because they will be replaced before the project is over.

This one's for all you motorheads out there. The 440 I'm using midway through the process of stripping off the lean-burn system. While the car's still intact, it makes the most sense to get rid of that junk so that the motor runs its best before its swapped.

Very nice, LV What a fine Blumo she'll be, no doubt about it. There's also no doubt that you are a car guy. This will be a great project to watch.

Thanks. I'd have been done with this build already if it weren't for the fact that I found that 440 for such a good price. My paint and body guy; the only area I cannot do on any build, is busy with another one of my projects, so that works well.
Tomorrow, I'm going to get a quick video together of the 440 running to show how its coming along. I'm not going the route of a full rebuild, as she runs strong and sounds great as is, so she only needs a mild clean-up and light refreshing.

Here's a brief clip of the 440 idling before the pulling process actually starts. I can't wait until she's in the Monaco and drivable.

Update time: the 440 is now being cleaned and prepped to be lowered into the Monaco, which no longer has a 360. For all of those who wondered, a 440 is a drop-in replacement for a 360 or 400, provided it's at least a '74.
