- Bids of $32,421 ... And $35,200 ... Did not meet reserve. There's a lot of 1968 Bullitt cars out there now, seems like the last few years there's just as many for sale as Starsky Torino's.

This is what you hope for when you buy an all white Monaco too, you start stripping it and hope to find the car is black and white with a P1 on the rear doors and stars on the front, I just wasn't as lucky as this guy.

- I'm still having a hard time completely believing this story, although it does seem like it possibly could be the Bullitt Mustang that was supposed to be crushed, but never was ... still ... Whitey Bullitt as found in New Mexico ... The timing for the 50th anniversary of Bullitt (2018) is pretty good. I imagine a proper documentary about this find is in the works.

New Mexico looks shockingly like old Mexico. Actually, I think that picture lends credence to the claim. That doesn't look like any junkyard I've ever seen in the U.S. (It does look like a pic of a lot in Brooklyn, N.Y. , circa 1975 or so...), and that Ford in the background looks pretty much complete - and it's older than the Mustang.
