Arthur, Im not %100 sure whats going on with it. I think it might be stuck closed. when at idle it seems to be trying to suck through it. Im gonna grab a diff valve and try that. Like i say the cars been sitting since the races pretty much. I messed with it a little today, but just enough to find out that thats where the noise is coming from.
Thanks rob! I hate it though!!! lol I did get that patina washed off, but the nice rain came again so its got another great coat on it haha

Arthur idk if you remember, but at the race track the car was making the vacume hissing sound, it turned out to be my new pcv valve! Damn you carquest! lol I remember! So the PCV valve was not working correctly, staying open, so the intake had a vacuum leak and was just sucking air through the PCV? Did a new valve fix the problem? I put a new one on mine and it sounded like a BB whistling...changed it for an old one and no noise...cheap chineese crap I guess.

The trucks been getting all the attention... I saw the original picture of Country's truck on the web somewhere: Great work, my friend! Country, the panel beaters have finally gotten busy, and I expect to sometime next year to have a radiator yoke and inner fender for you. I'll keep you posted; just wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten about you! your friend in loading up the truck with happy memories, arthur

had my old man take the car up to the shop a week or so ago. Shes getting all ready and checked out for the long trip to FL. Im looking forward ti getting her! Shes been abandoned for 4 months. Finally able to have them put on the pushbar rubbers i got from Tk. Cant wait to see how they look! I also had them put on a headlight flasher (wig wag) unit i got from last years cevs. But it doesnt seem to be working. They said its missing a piece for it to work. Might anyone know what it could be? The control unit i have is a whelen bl2150a. Jake called whelen up to try and figure out what it needed they gave him a part number. Its mpc01. But when he looks it up he cant find it. Whelen wont help our much now because they found out the cars not an emergency vehicle, and they only deal with the police and other emergency departments, not the general public. Anyone ever deal with one of these before?

thanks steam! No i have an older siren that was pretty much plug and play. It looks like my flaser is a lot more advanced and need a computer to run it lol. I looked into it a lil, and seems the mpc01 is the mother board for it all and controls it. Didnt think id need all that to make my lights blink lol. Its seems the mpc01 sends the information needed to flash the lights to the flasher unit. Ill have jake leave the controler in the carand deal with it wheb i get her.
Thanks again steam! This is turning out to be quite the mission!

flew into detroit wednesday afternoon. My buddy jake picked me up from the airport, and took me to the car. Man!!! sitting the last few months outdoors did its wonderfull number again.
Idk where the moisture is coming from.. but my new headliner looks almost as bad as the old one. The bodys breaking out in spots (but already figured on that). Also some of the electric parts took some warming up to start working properly.
However jake did get the car mechanically looked over, and everythings fine there. she still runs, and drives like a dream. Also got the new pushbar rubbers on. The wig wag controler for the headlights is installed but still need the controler for it.
Ive got the car back home. Been messing with it since. I took the pushbar off, sanded and repainted. Got many layers of paint on now, so hopefully wont wear down like it did. took the car over to my buddy ricks, and adjusted the front torsion bars. She was a sitting low, been wanting to do that for years! The rear doesnt look as high now.
Started on the body today, got the drivers side just about ready for paint, next will be the passenger side. Then just gotta get her cleaned up, and shes ready for the trip down south. I DONT miss working in the wonderfull cold! lol However I wont have the space, and roof over my head as much to do it all down there. Im hoping to have her all buttoned up sunday to meet chris, and arthur, if the weather will hold...
I brought the camera, but seems I forgot the cord to hook it to the computer, so pics will be on the way.

The old girl did me proud! She was a running 21 hours straight without a hickup, went 1400 miles. Jake and I met up with arthur and chris sunday the 4th and picked up some parts. I told them about all the parts I was planning to pack in her. They all looked at me like I was crazy! haha Come on guys were talking about a cbody monaco, that could also double as a big city apartment lol. I got a bunch of work done to the car before leaving, Mainly body work, and cleaning. did get the new pushbar rubbers cleaned up, and pushbar painted. Said goodbye to lil pinckney wednesday
