I got a new seat a while back from nathan on BBC, but it ended up getting a tear in it while the rear window was being worked on. I gave the seat back to my buddy jake to get the tear fixed, so Ive been riding around without it. It actually makes people think its real cop car! lol they think its some police thing.. so Ive just been going with it! haha (no not really.. It just gets old telling people its getting fixed, and telling the story lol) But while the seat top is gone, i pulled the bottom seat, and got my build sheet. Still in very good shape! There was also evidence of a mopar fan owning the car before me. Foud a sweet mopar performance sticker as well, with some change and a pin. Notice the small pieces of glass? The rear window was blown out years ago from a rock thrown by a lawn mower out in oregon where the car came from -zac

I want to thank steam for pointing me in the direction of prolly one of the most drastic changes to the car. I got a 140 speedo from huey on ebay! I never would have scored it without steam telling me it was on there! chris came over to put it in. We had one mishap, but gave arthur a call, and he saved the day! The needle had fallen below zero. But arhur told me how you could move the needle back by forcing it all the way over to the 155 mph mark (thats not there), as it would raise the needle up. this worked great! The speedo does read an accurate speed.. But the needle does do quite a bit of bouncing around at the 50mph mark, and over. Im hoping that with more use it will settle in. i think the speedos been sitting a while. With the speedo out, this gave me a chance to replace some bulbs that had burned out. In all the years Ive owned the car, this is the first time all the interior lights worked! Its so wierd, im used to driving her with only half the dash lit up! but what a difference with all the lights! lol I also got a water temp/oil pressure gauge from marin county a while back! Arthur did some dealing with chad on BBC, and chad sold me the gauge for a great price. -zac

The last little things... I threw some paint on the door pillars. I cant get to arthurs thread on BBC about where black/white meets, so just went with what looked good. Looks a lot better then brown! I got the rear bumper etts off. Only broke one bolt! lol. Luckily there wasnt any rust behind them, just a little bit of surface rust. That came out with some steel whool. At the moment im redoing my dual snorkel air cleaner. I took it over to a buddies who has a bead blaster. It took for ever to get the lid done! I got some of the base done, but had to end it there. I got some paint stripper to try and get the rest off, but its not doing shit! I gotta try and get it back over to my buddies place lol. Got a craig s632 player from chad for her. I was gonna cut it up to put in the vent hole. but after a lil bit of cleaning I got it to play some tapes! Cant bring myself to cutting it up now.. not sure what im gonna do.. Any suggestions? I took the car on the hot rod power tour last month, and found the car on the mother wax page! powertour.net/04_community_05_tour_2011/04_community_05_tour_2011_06_June10.htmlIll end with a shot of how the cars looking! lol Hope you guys like! -zac

Wow man. Thanks for the shout-out on the speedo, Zac. I mentioned that to you kinda in passing thinking you would have been on top of Huey's sales. I think some BBC members were maybe bidding against each other? I'm not sure, but the good news is people seem to keep getting what they need. Zac ... dude. Your Blumo is not only a beautiful Blumo but it's also approaching a high end police clone. The ticket light and the speedo are awesome additions.

Sweet! That is just awesome stuff.
I am about where you are on restoring the air cleaner. I'm using various size wire brushes that attach to a power drill. It is working out pretty well. (The whole thing looks like brushed aluminum.)
edit: When you painted the door frames, did you remove the doors and the trim pieces?... Or, did you just tape it off really well?
*Annnd... What brand of orange did you use? .

Thanks guys! Steam, you did mention to keep an eye out on hueys stuff.. but I just plain forgot to keep an eye out without BBC! Ive got his ebay page bookmarked now! haha He had some awesome stuff of there I wish I coulda grabbed! Especially the NOS 74 front bumper! I was drooling over that thing for hours! But with the chicago trip coming up, I gotta save $$. Hell I already spent the hotel $$ I had saved up on the damn speedo! lol But like you said, everyone seems to be getting what they need. If you do see a 74 bumper out there please point me to it! lol. might have to include a finders fee! Arthur, thanks man!! Yea not sure what to do yet with this 8 track player... It plays, but only plays on track 4. Heres another vid of it playing, and me trying to switch tracks. Any clue what it might need? I was thinking about hiding my radio thats in it right now under a seat or in the trunk, and mounting the 8 track player in the stock location. That Way Im saving the player, and still have all my modern tunes, with mp3 player.. But if im gonna go that far I wanna put a radio delete plate in the dash. Im already close to the car being accurate inside, might as well go the extra mile! Im deff NOT cutting up my dash though, so the player might have to bite the bullet. lol Arthur might you have any screen shots of the blumo radio delete plate? I remember you talking about how it looked like there was a switch or 2 mounted on it? Anyone have a shot of a radio delete plate? Would come in handy to try and remake one.. TK, Glad you like it man!! Thanks! I think the air cleaner Ive got was once painted black, and someone wanted one done oarnge as well.. The paint thats on it is deff not OEM. Its very thick, and is taking forever to get off.. Im gonna try a wire brush to it tomarrow, and see what that does. I got some metal stripper made by rust oleum, it took the paint off great on the snorkels as you can see in the pics, but doesnt seem to be doing much to the base.. Im using rust oleum engine enamel. Picked it up at the local autozone. Im not sure if its cause its high temp paint, or if its cause when I painted the lid it was VERY hot and humid out.. But the paint is not very glossy, and looks almost like it was powder coated on.. Hard to explain. does anyone have a pic of a real un touched dual snorkel with original paint? Wanna make sure it looks good enough before I order up a sticker for it.. On the door frames, I left the doors on the car. Just masked around them. I also left the tan interior pieces in, and taped em up real good. If I got any paint on them I used that wd-40 method to get the paint off. this worked great!. I did take the door sills off though. Ive taken the chrome trim around the top edges of the doors off many times, but left it on for some reason this time.. Ive still gotta do the top parts on the rear doors, might take it off then. thanks again! -zac

Zac, The reason the coating came out that way is the humidity. The high temperature enamels are very sensitive to it and if the humidity index is too high, it appears to be flat instead of the proper glossy color. I had the same problem and now I'm having a friend redo mine because he can dip it in a stripping agent and re-coat it professionally.
The best way to get that to come out right is to re-apply the paint on a day with next to no humidity.

Thats what I was thinking chad.. Yea it just doesnt look right. Its not smooth at all, has a very rough surface. Hopefully I can get away with just sanding it, and putting on another coat. I dont wanna strip it completly again!
