I got a PM from ghostbluesman asking about my recent lack of activity on the board.
When Steam and I started the board, I envisioned that it would become the "go to" place for discussion and info on the bluesmobile and 74-77 c-bodies. But eventually I got just got beat down by the difficulty of getting things done.
Oct 2011 : Request offsite backups
Jul 2012 : Request a subforum for "individual department setup"
May 2013 : Request a subforum for "archived threads". Ghostbluesman writes that he likes the plan, but Steam doesn't implement.
Nov 2013 : Request a subforum change to better organize movie props. Ghostbluesman writes that he likes the plan, but Steam doesn't implement. We still don't have the Epoxy label on the site.
Jan 2014 : Searches don't work. I ask Steam to submit an admin ticket to proboards. Steam writes that he'll take a look, we never hear back.
Please keep in mind, I've requested admin rights several times. I would have been happy making the above changes myself. On average, I spent an hour a day on the site, so over 3 years, that's about 1000 hours, working on answering questions and posting information. And I can't searches to work.
And without admin rights, not only am I prevented from fixing searching, I can't do the things I thought we should be doing:
- hosting all the brochures, manuals, parts catalogs, high-res pics, scripts
- different board software to facilitate off-site backups
- different board software to allow for detailed subforum tree without cluttering front page
- different board software to more easily store pics as part of the board
For pics, Steam writes:
> Arthur has removed all of his pictures from the site.
I have not removed my pictures from the site. I'm working on reorganizing my photobucket albums in a way that provides for easy information store/access for me. I don't think its fair for this board to ask me to maintain two sets of pictures.
I've refocused my bluesmobile hobby on things that don't take much space, so I've decided to liquidate my part holdings, including Marin County (but excluding the MMoA display case and display items). I'm working on putting everything together for a large single donation. If you're a well heeled investor, and might be interested in beating the donation bus, send me a PM.

And that's a fun thing to do sometimes. I'll be stopping by from time to time.
