For the 1975 model year, all USA cars were required to have catalytic converters (which required unleaded gasoline). And all unleaded gasoline pump nozzles were required to be smaller diameter, which allowed 1975 gas tank inlets to be smaller diameter (so one couldn't put a leaded gas nozzle in a car made for unleaded gas).
A 1975-1977 sometimes had a label or silkscreen that showed "unleaded gasoline only" or "unleaded fuel only". If the label was present, it seems to be described by the following rules:
1975 : "unleaded gasoline only" decal, in the "anywhere" positions
1976 : transition year, could have 1975 "gasoline" decal anywhere, or 1977 "fuel" silkscreen in a single position
1977 : "unleaded fuel only" silkscreen in a single position
177ellwood's 1975 Monaco was a Canadian export, and it doesn't have catalytic converters or the "unleaded gasoline only" notice. But many USA cars don't have them either. Its possible that the decal fell off over the years, but it seems more likely that they were never applied at the factory.

pics of 77 "fuel" silkscreen:
I don't actually know that 1976/77 "unleaded fuel only" was silkscreened. I say that based solely on:
1) all the pics I've seen have it in the same place
2) none of the pics I've seen obviously show it a decal
3) this pic of a 1977 Canadian car:
It is of a 77, and it looks like the area for "unleaded fuel only" has been scratched off. I wonder if Canadian Monacos didn't have catalytic converters in 1977, and the bezel was originally silkscreened with "unleaded fuel only" and Ma Mopar had to sand down the notice before export.
All I see on the web is that in Canada
> Catalytic converters have been used on some vehicles since the mid-1970s. By 1988,
> all light-duty vehicles manufactured for sale in Canada were equipped with
> three-way catalytic converters (TWC).

The bezel is a little unusual in that it has no wood. But its not a cop car (wood on door panels, and doesn't have 1977 Canadian Certified speedometer).
