- Gorgeous car! 1978 was the last year for the 440 and this one has it, E86. Asking price is $10,990 in Middleton, Maryland.
Formerly an unmarked Virginia State Police officers car. About 10 years ago the car was mechanically restored and the engine was completely rebuilt to 1969 440 Super Commando specs (and then some). This increased the horsepower from the stock 255 to over 400 (legit) and increased torque from 340 to 450 ft. Lbs. E-86 440 four bbl. motor w/ Carter 850 cfm Thermoquad carb (brand new)- True dual exhaust (just replaced) with Hemi style mufflers- Rebuilt heavy duty Torqueflite transmission with new torque converter- Engine features a supplemental factory engine and transmission oil coolers, a power steering oil cooler and high capacity radiator- A-38 handling package includes- Dana-60 9 1/4" rear end 2:71 gear ratio, Heavy duty torsion bars, huge front and rear anti-sway bars, 15x8" slotted wheels and poverty type hub caps- Currently has performance radial tires- Police package front Disc brakes, large vented rear drum brakes, heavy duty shocks, reinforced frame-
The car also had upgrade electrical including 100 amp alternator, heavier gauge wiring and provisions for added emergency lighting- The car also has air conditioning-

^ I looked for this one and can't find it for sale, it's been over 10 months since any action in this thread so she's been marked as sold. Take another look at this B-body Beauty ! Yeah the horsepower dropped from 1974 but still, this is the last of the 440's !
... dropped in hp each year until 1978, when it was rated at 255 hp (190 kW) (in police specification) and limited to Chrysler New Yorkers, Chrysler Newports, Dodge Monaco Police Pursuits, and Plymouth Fury Police Pursuits.
