- Truly it's a tribute (as opposed to a clone) to Buford Pusser and McNairy County as both Walking Tall (1973) and Walking Tall Part 2 (1975) came out before this Gran Fury was built. First movie was Dodge Polara mostly, and then mostly Chevy in Part 2. So it's not based on any original movie car, nor any car in the two TV movie versions (2007) or the re-make with The Rock (2004). Just a civilian tribute car and one of the signatures on it is Buford's daughter, Dwana ... damn ... just did a quick search on her ...
It has been reported by those close to the Pusser family that Dwana Pusser Garrison died yesterday (March 8, 2018), the result of a self inflicted gun. Pusser, 57, lived a life full of tragedy and heartbreak, beginning with the death of her mother Pauline in an alleged ambush that was meant for her father. The movie series “WALKING TALL” was a story about her father, Sheriff Buford Pusser of McNairy County Tennessee.
