Hi! I have been a lurker on this forum for a few months now having wanted a bluesmobile for years I finally took the plunge when one came up for sale advertised by a gentleman from Italy called Filippo, now, I live in England so that meant a 2000 mile round trip based on hoping the sellers description was accurate! The car was exactly as described faults and all and was in good enough condition to haul the 16 hrs home to central England, I have had the car inspected by a professional classic US car mechanic and have a list of 'To do' jobs to get it road worthy but shouldn't take more than a weeks work as the car was remarkably solid, I will be recruiting the help of fellow blumo enthusiast's to get the exterior as accurate as possible so would appreciate a critique on the appearance and what it needs or doesn't need to make it true to the film externally - I know the original didn't have quarter lights but unless I get new doors they will stay - I also have acquired a unity spot lamp for the drivers side And finally I would love to hear from bluesmobile owners in the UK Cheers James Attachments:

Congrats! you should hook up with Mrroverover, he's on your side of the pond and has a Bluesmobile he bought from me. I think that's 4 Bluesmobiles in England on this board now. Best of luck with your new purchase.

Congrats on the purchase, I figured that the Filippo Bluesmobile had as good a chance of staying in Europe as it did coming back to the US. You guys will have to get them all lined up for a group shot.

Nice. I think the original blusmobiles didnt have a passenger mirror. I might leave it if i was you. Its better then sideswiping someone.
The interior was camel colored except for the steering column which was black.
Sem camel after using there prep spray treatment if you care.
As far as the rest its up to you to decide how far and how you want to do it. The bluesmobile in the movie had many different looks.
There used to be a thread called morphing bluesmobile on another site but it got lost when they changed it to a facebook site.
But basically it showed all the screenshots and pointed out all the differences between all of them.
So its up to you what version and how in depth you want to get.
It looks good like it is.Congrats!!

The interior was camel colored except for the steering column which was black. This is true of original 74 monaco's, steering columns were black, however interior shots of Bluesmobiles in the movie always show a camel colored steering column. This is an oddity as it would seem that the film crew would have had to paint all the steering columns on all the cars but we can only assume they did. My 74 had a black steering column, but I intentionally painted it camel to be screen accurate.

I thought in some shots it had the black column with the steering wheel painted camel. Well you learn something new every day. Thanks
