Great idea. Do you have any details of who the outfit is that painted the car? Be great to see if they are still in business and what the premises look like.

Whitey has been chocolate brown a couple of times, red, silver a bunch of times, and white the last bunch of times. The gold in the pics is the original paint which is in really good shape. That sly old dude you bought it from, must have been a bank robber! He just had it painted after each heist. Hah, well "Red" Rountree was still robbing banks at age 91 ... - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._L._Hunter_%22Red%22_RountreeOther than that ... I don't know, it just seems completely crazy.

They have some good reviews and some bad ones that seem fitting. I'm sure they knew they were screwing the old guy, but he kept returning to be screwed over and over. It's an interesting conversation piece if nothing else. Here's an older pic (2011) And a more recent one

Been peeling for a couple of hours after work, some of the paint comes off easily, some is a little tough but that's why God created 80 grit DA paper. I doubt I'll have to go with the blasting route, I may get it all done with scraping and chemical stripping the trim.

Looks better already. You really need to box up all the paint and send it back to the shop who did it.

And there's probably another 3-4 pounds that I haven't swept up yet in the garage, 2-3 in my driveway, and at least 10 pounds still on the car.

Absolutely fascinating, like an archeological dig! And what's emerging is looking like a pretty darn decent car, and happy to take a breath I might add.

Whitey has kinda been on hold, between Amphicar repairs that I can't afford, family court (which again, I can't afford), and general bullshit in my life but my daughter's new pastime while outside is to find loose paint on Whitety and peel it off (it just gets loose while the car sits there, it's self peeling at this point), so she and I were out peeling the other night and I broke out my scraper and decided to pop out the bondo in the rt fender. Wow, in the same fashion of their paint work, look at the lovely bodywork these guys do. Luckily it'll be an easy repair because they didn't attemp any metal work, hell, they didn't even scuff the paint! Gotta love these guys

Not much of an update but I did arrange the 3 Monacos so I can mix and match parts between HOB 3, Whitey, and the parts car. I've been doing little things on Whitey but we haven't had much good weather here. I think my first project should be swapping his dash out with the parts cars, cluster, trim, harness, everything in the parts car is mint. Looking at this pic make me feel like I should be going to meetings or something, "Hello my name is Adam and it's been one year since I've bought a Monaco".
