Here: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=sedans&thread=184&post=909177ellwood comments that this 76 Fury: Seems to have a cop brake booster. I think it is a cop booster. And I think it is not a cop booster. Simultaneously. Surely I have to be at least half right. For 74-77 c-body, there appear to be two types of brake boosters: single diaphragm, and dual diaphragm. For these 74-77 c-body, from what I understand, both provide about the same pedal feel to driver (they both have about the same vacuum boosted surface area). The single diaphragm is larger diameter. The dual-diaphragm is smaller diameter, but overall thicker, with two boosted surfaces. I don't see anything in the police brochures to indicate that dual-diaphragm was a "cop" booster, but there does seem to be something "cop" about it, at least in 74. Marin County had dual, while Lord Vadus 74, Country's 75, and 177ellwood's 75 all had single: above, Marin above, Lord Vadus 74 above, 177ellwood's 75 above, country bunker's 75 But my 76 Monaco ultra-civilian parts car had the dual: And this 76 Fury has the dual. So maybe in 74/75 only cops got the dual? And in 76/77 everyone got the dual? Or at least they became equivalent and they just mixed/matched on the line? your friend in cop boosters for everyone, arthur
