So the car should be here in the next few days, it's somewhere between California and New York (I hope). In the mean time I've picked up 2 unity 217L spot light brackets (not Bluesmobile correct but they were used for factory mounted spot lights on '74(?)-'77 C-bodies and were very nicely priced) and a correct unity S-6 spot light on ebay. Once "Whitey" gets here I'll start a new build thread. My daughter (who is now 5) wants to paint it, I told her she can help with the lettering but she wants to paint the whole car, I think I know who I'm going to pass this "sickness" onto.

Soooo "Whitey" is two days late and I just got done yelling at some guy at the transport company (not my broker but he got bitched at too). Seems the car is 2 1/2-3 hours from here but they won't deliver it until tomorrow or Sunday, I told them I won't be here this weekend so the guy tells me again when they are going to deliver it, and now I'm fucking pissed and tell him in a demonic voice because I'm fuming that "I won't fucking be here, what part of that don't you understand?" They say they have no trucks to bring it here on, what the fuck was it on from CA to Philly (where it is now)? Then I'm getting it turned around on me by my broker and them saying I never said I wasn't going to be home on Saturday or Sunday. If the car is supposed to be here Wednesday or Thursday and You never call to tell me anything different so on Wednesday I call out of curiosity and then I'm told "Definitely Friday", why wouldn't I make plans for Saturday with my Kid? I hate these transport guys, some are great, it's about a 50-50 shot at getting a good one. I'd rather have the car be late over it being damaged but the two usually go hand in hand. The late guys are usually the irresponsible guys that break off side mirrors or rip convertible tops, or run cars into the each other loading them and then deny doing it. Sorry about the rant but I'm pissed, not that the car is late, it happens, I'm pissed that they never called to tell me and if I didn't call today they'd be calling me when I'm 3 hours from home tomorrow telling me they're at my house. These drivers have cell phones, the people at the office have phones, as soon as they know the load is going to be late they should call everyone with a car on that truck, or at least the broker that booked them. The real pisser is tomorrow I won't be too far from where the car is, depending on where in Philly the car is I'll be about 15 minutes from there. I wish I had a truck and trailer, I would go get it.

Sorry to hear the drama. I'd borrow a truck and rent a U-Haul trailer for $50 and bring it home..Or have a buddy drive it home. If I was going to be that close I'd just get it some how.

These cars are way too big for a U-haul trailer and it's not registered or insured to drive back, plus I wouldn't trust an unknown 40 year old car on a long trip like that. I'll just have to wait.

^ The dash, the entire interior is really something else. A 91 year old dude was driving this ... as a daily driver? Amazing. I've been reading about soda blasting, might be an option here I've seen that on the American Restoration show. At least if I remember correctly that's what they were doing at times when they wanted to be a bit more gentle than sand blasting. The host seemed quite pleased with the results and went back to those guys in other episodes. 'Whitey' is one unique car, we've seen some spray bombing but this is the next level. Borderline insanity, really. Lol, Jesus H. Great batch of pics, Adam, glad the car finally made it to you safely. I like this pic, some mix and (not)match mirrors going on here ...

I spoke to a blaster not too too far from me. He said he'd use some kind of media (I forget what he called it) on the panels and soda blast the trim, he can't give me an exact price as he normally would because this car is an extremely unique case but I think his prices sound fair. I'm going to chip away around the f & r windows and gutters and strip part of the bumpers to make sure the roof isn't rotted and bondoed up and to make sure the bumpers weren't scuffed before wasting any money on it. The dash in my demo derby '74 is perfect so I'll just do a swap and hopefully be able to get everything working. The old man was honest for the way he probably sees things, my 89 year old father wouldn't see anything wrong with what this guy had done either. The body shop should have known better, they charged this guy $1,000 to paint this car, its disgusting but if you read their reviews they are a butcher shop with no morals. I do have a bunch of receipts that came with this car, he put tons on money in it over the years.
