I'm dropping a rebuilt motor in my blumo soon and considering a single wire alternator. Or should I stick with the separate regulator?
Pros and cons?

Are you changing the engine for a reason, the car only had 50,000 miles? And I personally would keep the car as the factory had it for three reasons, 1-because they engineered it that way at Chrysler and it's a proven system, 2-at least in the US the alternator would be easier to get at local parts stores for emergencies because it was a commonly used part on Chryslers and would be available overnight (or at a u-pull it yard, and 3-because if the regulator goes bad you can change just the regulator and once again its easier to obtain a factory type part in emergencies.

I had it looked at by usa specialist over here to look into that flat spot issue it's always had. Turns out its got leaky valves and he said it's a tired engine. I've no reason to doubt him as he's a well known guy with over 40 years experience. So I've bought a rebuilt 360 from a 74 with mild cams, headers, recon gearbox and holley 4bbl. I'm not going silly but would like a little more power. I'm not too fussed about originality as it's far from original now anyway. None of these alternators are on the shelf here in uk anyway so that isn't the issue. I think I'll stick with the regulator though as I did fit a new adjustable one recently due to the old one being dead.
