It's supposedly a "real" Arkansas State Police car that was bought from an auction many years ago. Arkansas State Police had blue cars with white tops..the owner says they painted the top blue when they acquired it. Gonna confirm the Vin # tomorrow and look it over closer. It's really rough, prolly will use it for parts..the rear quarter is smashed. But, it's got a 440, non vent windows..intact interior. It was on its way to the crusher..gonna try and save it or some of it. Buying it for $250. Still looking for the right car..just couldn't let this one go.

If its a true cop car 440 the exhaust manifolds alone are worth the price you paid. Not to mention speedo, ticket light, window trim already drilled for spot light................

Worth every penny Grab it fast Picking it up Saturday. It might be saved and fixed if I could find a replacement rear quarter panel. I'll take more detailed pics tomorrow.

^ Outstanding find!! That's the one that confuses folks sometimes being that it's a 1976 Dodge Monaco and not a Royal Monaco. Fender mount turn signals? Bit of an oddity. . . . Actually, maybe it is a 1976 Royal Monaco, which would make it a civilian vehicle with spotlight added by the agency mechanic. Not unheard of and the Bear-Spotters guide does say 1976 Royal Monaco as the secondary cruiser for the Arkansas State Police ... bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/1824/neat-bear-spotters-guide-1977
Cool car, great save.

Good info. However, looked at the car and the body is ate up with rust..opened the trunk and saw the ground, the driver door wouldn't even open. Only thing worth saving is the 440 and 727..it is complete and even still has the original 160 amp alternator. I couldn't make out the VIN cuz the window was cracked and foggy so I couldnt verify the code. Interesting it still had the hole in the quarter panel where the big whip antenna was mounted. Lol. Haven't decided what I want to do yet, Id like the drive train but the rest is junk.

Interesting it still had the hole in the quarter panel where the big whip antenna was mounted. That is interesting for sure. What I meant by "civilian" vehicle earlier was there was no police package for the '76 Royal Monaco so I doubt the second position in the VIN is going to be a K, but it might be Y39 Special Order, which would be cool. And as a lot of folks who read about that stuff know that there were a couple or several agencies that ordered civilian vehicles back then and added the cop stuff they wanted themselves, so there might not be a second tag with A38 and even if that turns out to be the case here, it's still a police car, maybe the rarest in the land lol (Based on it truly being a secondary cruiser for the Arkansas State Police). Just seems like a very interesting car. Damn rust.

Now that u got me thinking, the owner said he thinks it was a defectives car or something..but who knows..sucks the car can't be saved. It does however have good glass (other than windshield), intact blue interior, trim,..it did have the cigerette lighter still. Lol. I think I'm gonna figure out a way to pull the motor and trans..and someone on here needed a hood pull cable..if he hasnt sold it yet.

I need a lot of parts for my burned up car, wiring harness, roof, glass, interior, a cowl would be nice too so I'd be interested in the car sans the drive train.

I'll buy the A/C evaporator core, that is if you are willing to dig it out of the dash. Im sure it will be nasty. I need a repairable core.
