- Well that's about that. I remember the first shows on NBC in 1982. I was still in College and we were certainly fans of Dave, lots of good stuff back then. Still good after the switch to CBS. If I had to get up early I taped it haha. Now all the good stuff is on youtube the next day. Dave or Jimmy or Conan etc. etc., all have youtube channels for their shows. Are people still watching these shows on television? Last guest tonight, Bill Murray. Last show tomorrow, May 20. Bill was the first guest. - www.cbs.com/shows/late_show/

Yeah, even though Leno has the cars, Dave always seemed to be a classier, nicer guy, and genuinely funny...gonna miss his dry humor. Rob

I was, I watched almost every show in the mid-late '80s. It was a very different show back then. Around 2000, he became political. Let's just say that his and my politics differ.

Really was a great time. Last of the classic era hosts. Can't forget the two original Blues Brothers band members either.

^ Yes, and the band often played BB and Stax tunes, including "Soul Man" in the BB key rather than the original key. I believe Tom Malone did all the arrangements. And their drummer, Anton Fig, played on the BB 2000 soundtrack.
I wish I had attended a taping of the show so I could have seen two more original BB band members.
