After lots of trial and error, and grinding and beating and fitting, it slowly starts to fit better...

Now that I am motivated again, I started to dig out all the trim and bits and pieces that have been packed away for so long. I start to clean up the trim and figure out where it all goes. I have spent the last 3 years taken parts off of this car, its a great feeling to be able to start putting it back together. I am a bit overwhelmed and not quite sure where to start...back glass trim is the first to go on. I couldn't resist fitting the grill and digging out the letters. I did not fill the holes in header, I like the way it looks with the D O D G E letters. The grill will probably have to come back off later, but I just got carried away

I am lucky to live close to the Eastwood store in Illinois, so I have made many trips there to buy supplies. I got this for Christmas last year and I finally get to use it. There are a lot of bad reviews about this product online; people say that the black sticky stuff 'leaks' after being applied in high temperature areas. The box sat in my garage all summer and the sheets were still like new, so maybe those who complained got a bad batch. Just to be sure, I taped all the seams and edges with heavy foil tape. I was going to put this behind the door panels but I'm not sure if I am going to yet. The rubber police floor is in good shape, some small tears and the jute backing is nasty, but overall very nice. I'm very lucky Huey sold me this with the car.

- Nice! Shiny, the car and that Eastwood product. Among the noise reduction and safety benefits it will also, "Increase stereo sound quality." Gotta like that.

It turns out my 440 is frozen after sitting for so long, and since I cant afford the added machine shop costs with new pistons at this time, I sent out the 400 to the machine shop to be cleaned and have new cam bearings installed. The cylinders were good, so I did a light hone and ordered new rings. It turns out this block is .020 over from the factory. Everything was original on this engine except the oil pan gasket was replaced a long time ago. All rod and main bearings were date coded in 73 and were STD size. I ordered new bearings, cleaned everything up and put it back together...

The heads cleaned up nice, All the valves, seats and guides were in great shape. I cleaned everything up, hand-lapped in the valves, and reassembled the heads using new valve seals and Mopar Performance heavy duty valve springs to match the new cam...

I installed a new High volume oil pump and a double roller timing chain, put it back together and painted her up. The Offenhauser intake was on there when I got the car, probably to get rid of the factory 2 barrel set up. I was originally going to use the vintage Direct connection valve covers, but have since changed my mind and decided to run with the stock covers.

A friend of mine has a sandblast cabinet, so we sandblasted the exhaust manifolds, pulleys and accessory brackets. I painted the manifolds with Eastwood high temp paint. I think they turned out nice. I am currently painting all of the sandblasted parts and slowly putting everything back together. $ is tight right now, I still need a new water pump and fuel pump.

^ Looks like all the 'tinypic' photos are no longer loading. And the photobucket pics, which were uploaded mostly on a photobucket account I had specifically for this site, well they all have the dang photobucket watermark, but you can still see them. Anyhoo, Tony is a STAR !! lol. Cool vid, Tony. You've done a fantastic job with your Blumo.

Thanks Steam! Yeah, I always had issues posting pics on here. Thanks for sharing this little video. My friend shot it last fall and it turned out pretty good.
