So basically all that is left wrong with the car is there is a stone chip in the windshield, the rotors are slightly warped and should be cut, the gas gauge is new but the sender must be bad, valley vintage sells them new and there is also one on craigslist for $64 plus $10 shipping, the high bean indicator light and rt turn signal on the dash are out, the front window run channels are brittle and breaking, the rears are fine, there is a flat spot in the carb when you start out even though it's a rebuilt carb, the heat works great but doesn't change from heat to defrost, it's halfway on both all of the time, and as with any old car the A/C doesn't work. It also has your typical 37 year old car rattles. Anyone interested in it if I get the title back this week PM me and we'll see what happens, I'm really interested in the '69 Polara on EBAY and this car would have to go. It's proven reliable and has been driven hundreds of miles the last couple of weekends. Read more: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/1870/58-hemifurys-bluesmobile-project?page=11#ixzz3HH9vMU21

What I should add is the car is reliable, has a new radiator, water pump, fuel pump egr valve, muffler, plugs , wires, cap, and rotor. It burns no oil, only has 53,000 miles, NO RUST! 360, 2 bbl.

Watching with interest Any chance of more detailed pics of the trouble spots? And general current detailed condition? The heater issue, do you mean you can't physically change the heat flow? You can turn heat off though yes? Oh and these don't have rear defoggers do they? Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

This has the heated glass, not a defogger. Yes heat goes on and off, fan works at all speeds, just can't turn on full defrost or full heat, probably just a vacuum hose or something, maybe a stuck door. What do you want pics of, the stone chip?

Pretty much all of it! As you know I'm not really going to be able to view before I buy so would like to see a few detailed pics. Maybe even a video walk around with it starting up and running etc?

The Polara is at $8,000 already so there is no rush on selling this one but if someone wants it I'll still sell when my title comes

Your having the same same problem that I'm having. Put in new gas gauge and still doesn't work it must be the sending unit of the ground but can seem to find it at the back at the tank.

I know it's the sending unit, it's on the right side of the tank and if you unplug the wire the gauge drops from above full to empty.

Mine won't even go up to full it goes from below the e to the e and doesn't move past it. When I unplugged it the gauge didn't move at all so it's got to be the unit or maybe just a ground but don't know where to look for that.

If you look on the right side of your tank above the frame rail and tailpipe there is the sending unit, the ground comes from the sender and clamps itself to the the steel fuel line.

So on the tank where I unpluged the wire before there should be a clamp on the gas line? Is it near or on the frame rail the line and if I don't have the clamp that may be my problem then.
