Has this been discussed before? I caught an episode of Diff'Rent Strokes titled "Hooray for Hollywood: Part 2" where the family goes to Universal Studios. Near the end the family is pulled on stage and put into "a movie" that appears to be one of the attractions at Universal… One of the scenes has the bluesmobile (they call it "the Blues Brothers car") "crash" through a wall. It appears to possibly only be the front half of the car made to look like it's coming out of the front of a building. It also looks quite beat up… This may have been an actual feature show Universal put on at one time by the looks of it (?). I searched YouTube and couldn't find a clip and the part of the show was so brief that I may be missing some of the details- I'd like to see it again. Where did this car come from and where did it go?

- Interesting stuff. All I could find out about that episode was it aired February 18, 1984 and featured David Hasselhoff and KITT ... Although those scenes with Hoff and KITT might have been in part 1 of that episode, I'm not sure. TK826 might know about what Blues Brothers car they had there at Universal Studios in 1984. I can't find any info about it.

Yes that is the episode! There are two parts- both feature David Hasselhoff and KITT. As far as the bluesmobile goes- I just wonder if it's at all possible that it is/was an original from the movie given that it was not THAT long after the movie was filmed... It was at universal and I believe it was cut in half... Maybe a car that had the back half damaged?

...Or even the bluesmobile that falls apart at the end of the movie- pieced back together.

I just wonder if it's at all possible that it is/was an original from the movie On one hand we can't completely rule that out, on the other, after extensive research by many of us here, there's just absolutely no evidence that a single Blumo survived. Or even half a Blumo. The half Blumo crashing through a wall has been seen before ... Heh, that was a bar Dan owned in Kingston, Ontario in the early to mid 90's. It's more than half a Blumo but the back did not protrude into the bar, what you see is what it was. Not a movie car. I'm sure curious now to see that clip from Diff'rent Strokes. When you saw it did it for sure look like a 1974 Monaco? Maybe someone has that season on DVD and can get us a screen grab. Whatchootalkin'bout? * Forgot to mention those pics are courtesy of board member Huey when he visited Kingston in 1997 I believe. The bar had been closed for a year at that point and the car was removed shortly thereafter.

My first attempt at scene grabs... Fantastic! Great job in finding that. Now if only I knew what the hell we're looking at, lol. It looks like a Monaco but not that bumper. The lower grille area I can't figure out ... I'm doing some searching but haven't found a match yet. Anyone know what car that bumper is from?

It looks like two bumpers from something else entirely, sectioned and welded in the middle.
